Students can use certain expressions and sentence pattern to talk about past events. 教學

Students are able to realize the background culture. 學情分析 Students have learned what past tense is in Unit 11 and also learned 6 expressions and 1
sentence pattern to talk about the events, but they lack practice. And they should be encouraged to dig deep into them. Seven- graders are active in class and eager to learn
something new: Games and something fun can interest them. 教 學 過 程
一、導入新課 1.Greetings.
2.Review irregular verbs.
Review by a game: The teacher says a verb, one student says its past tense and do it one by one with the whole class.
3.Review expressions.
Challenge your eyes: Show them the pictures about the expressions that learned before.If the students know it,they can just stand up and speak it out freely. 4.Review sentence patterns.
Pair-work:Show students funny pictures of themselves and their teachers together with the expressions.They can ask and answer questions by “What did you/he/she/they do last weekend?” “I/he/she/they...” 二、學習新知
1.Learn the conversation in 2e.
“Can you guess what I did last weekend? I went to a museum with many butterflies and this girl,Lisa, just works at a place like this.”
1). Ask students to listen to the conversation and answer questions:

How was Lisa’s weekend? -(It was pretty good) What did she do?
-(She went to the Natural History Museum and worked as a guide.) How many kinds of butterflies do they have? -(Over 200.)
What did Lisa tell the visitors?
-(She told the visitors about the living habits if the butterflies.) Why is Paul tired? What did he do?
-(He stayed up late to watched the soccer game.)
2).Ask the students to stand up and read the conversation after the recording. 3).Practice the conversation with the partner. 4).Complete the mind map with the whole class. 5).Fill in the blanks together.
2.Role-play the conversation and make students’ own ones. 1).Ask few pairs of students to role-play the conversation. 2).Give them 2 mins to make their own conversations.
3.Extend the conversation and have a group work in the new situation.
1).Game:“Find the criminal” through asking “How and 5W” questions, then make a new conversation.
2).Show the conversation to the whole class in the front.
4. Provide cultural information about part-time job in America. 1).Play the video about part-time jobs for teenagers in America. 2).Ask the students to answer few questions as quickly as they can.
3). Points out several differences between China and America in terms of part -time job for teenagers. 三、總結梳理
