The teaching activities will focus on speaking on writing. These activities offer students the opportunity to collect and list information, then select two or three things that impressed them most to describe. They are also required to use some useful phrases and sentences to describe a city. It is very important for students to know the structure of a composition and use the vocabulary they have learned. It is also the best way to test if students have mastered what they have learned.
Writing is higher stage of language learning. The teacher should give students some assignment of writing. Only in this way, can students use what they have learned more feely. 教學(xué)重難點
Develop the students’ speaking and writing and use vocabulary to write a description of a city. 三維目標(biāo)

設(shè)計意圖：弄清寫作的結(jié)構(gòu)，把Free show 里學(xué)生所演繹荊州這個城市
的歷史，文化和現(xiàn)代生活形成寫作的結(jié)構(gòu)，再與Required show 里學(xué)生掌握的短語與句型結(jié)合，讓學(xué)生抓住行文的線索，零散的短語和句型能有機(jī)地串聯(lián)起來。每個學(xué)生先獨立寫作文，然后以小組討論組內(nèi)學(xué)生的作文里的好結(jié)構(gòu)與短語句型的使用。最后選出本組最好的一篇文章進(jìn)行展示。讓學(xué)生學(xué)會合作，發(fā)展與人溝通的交流能力。

Offer a good sample and a short video about Jingzhou city. Suppose you are a guide, you take some foreigners around to introduce Jingzhou. I am very glad to introduce my trip in Jingzhou. What impresses me deeply is its long history and culture.
As is known to the world, Jingzhou is an old city with a long history of more than 2,000 years. It’s the cradle of Chu Culture, which leaves a large number of invaluable cultural relics. Also it’s an old battlefield which plays an important part in the Three kingdoms. What’s more, there are so many festivals, one of which is the Dragon Boat Festival. It’s in honor of a famous poet named Qu Yuan. On that day, people would hold the boating races and get together to eat a big meal with their family. Last but not least, Not only is it a beautiful place, but also it is a place where people lead a peaceful and comfortable life. Transportation here is developed and it keeps pace with the times.
All in all, the city is really worth visiting.
