Step 1 Lead-in
T:Before the lecture,I’ll show the students the video of Australia to attract the Students’ attention. Step2 Quiz
Review the words and expressions of Unit 3,and ask the students to translate the words one by one ,engaging the students to get involved in the lecture. Step3 Brief reading
1) Let the students enjoy the video ,which concludes the famous places of Australia . 2) Match the pictures in warming-up with the places . 3) Name the location of the places above.
4) Engage the students to show their mind-maps to get the brief introduction of Australia according to the reading part. 5) Match the main idea with each part.
6) Organize the activity where the students are the tourists to introduce the famous places that are mentioned in the text.(The students can choose two pictures on the screen to introduce to all of us. )
Step 4 Careful reading for further information 1) Listen to Text 1 and answer the following questions. a)Where do most Australians live?
b) In what city do federal politicians work? c) How many people live in Australia?
2)Read Text 2 and answer the question,and then analyse the long and difficult sentences .
d)When is Australia day?
3)Enjoy the video of Adelaide and fill the blanks .
On this 4,352-km journey from Sydney to Perth via ______ you’ll see some of Australia’s ______ scenery.
And the students can find some beautiful words to describe the scenery .

4) Video tells us the reason why people couldn’t climb the amazing rock(Ayers Rock). (Text 4 and 5)
Most people do not climb Ayers Rock out of respect for the Aboriginal people who consider the rock to be sacred.
Step 5 Review the whole reading part by organizing the activities. (Group 1-Interview; Group 2-Talkshow;
Group3-further questions about the text,the student will ask the
puzzling questions ,and then other students will help him/her solve them.) Step 6 A writing for homework.
