This unit is about Europe. In the module, It introduce some cities in Europe ,After learning the text ,we should let the students learn to use the knowledge to describe a place .Such a topic is closely related to
students’ life, thus it is not difficult to arouse their interest in learning this lesson. This lesson is the three period of the unit. It also plays a very important role in the whole unit. Our students are almost from the countryside. They are lack of the cultural background about geography. Most students are not active in the class, and some students don’t like English. So Teacher should encourage students to express their ideas bravely and let them work in pairs or in groups to have a free talk about how to write a place..

The students will be helped to improve writing abilities through all kinds of activities and obtain more information about the content of how to write a place Language Focus:

1. 運(yùn)用基礎(chǔ)知識,學(xué)會用固定規(guī)范的句型準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)的能力。 2. 自主學(xué)習(xí),合作探究,掌握寫作的有序過程和方法
3. 學(xué)會描寫某個地方,在運(yùn)用中學(xué)會英語,感受用英語表達(dá)思想的快樂。 Affection:
In this period, the students will be cultivated to love and try to introduce their homeland “Tibet ” to the others . Culture:

(1) Discussion:Ask the students to have a discussion with their partner:what will you think of when speaking of a place?
The students will think of the question ,then have a free talk with their partner ,then the teacher let them to express their ideas
To attract the students’ attention quickly and lead into the topic “Description of a place”
II. New contents Step1:Leading-in
Show a passage and try to analyse what aspects we should write if we want to introduce a place to people Beijing lies in the north of china It covers an area of 16,000 square kilometers
With a population of more than 19 million .
And it is famous for Tian ’an men Square.
1. The students are supposed to find out the answers and express their opinions in English from the passage.
1. To develop the students’ skills of Using language 2. to tell the students the difference of the 3 words: to/on /in
Step 2 Presentation
1. Learn to study the way to introduce a place (1) Location A. It is in/to/ on...the east/west/south/north of ... B. Be located /lies in/to/on 位于 C. Game:Ask the students to guess some places from the map of China according to what the teacher said. (2)Area: have/cover an area of ...square kilometers
1. The students will try to fill in the blanks
