Aim of the class:

When do you receive gifts? From whom? What is the greatest gift?

(導入中設計的問題“你什么時候收到禮物,收到誰的禮物”與學生的生活相關,也與故事中的圣誕節(jié)的背景,Della和Jim互贈禮物向對應,“什么是最珍貴的禮物?”通過引導讓學生說出“愛”,與故事結尾的主題向呼應。)

(此環(huán)節(jié)把所有的問題都拋給學生,讓學生從整體上去理解故事的情節(jié),并在各個情節(jié)中體會主人公的情感變化,并找出能體現(xiàn)這些變化的表達。通過這個活動,學生能體會到歐亨利的寫作特點,作者細致地描述Della無錢為丈夫買禮物的焦灼心情,德拉的美發(fā),甚至寫德拉上街賣發(fā)和買表鏈的全過程,細致地描寫Jim回家后德拉擔心失去美發(fā)會傷害Jim的愛所作的一連串解釋,以及兩人在交換禮物時的心情和戲劇式的結尾。)
