Analysis of the teaching materials:
本文出自蕭伯納的戲劇劇作《賣花女》(Pygmalion),講述了說話不饒人的語言學(xué)家Henry Higgins與友人打賭,要在六個月之內(nèi),將滿口鄉(xiāng)音、在倫敦街頭賣花的少女Eliza Doolittle改造成大家閨秀,出席上流社會的舞會而不被揭發(fā)。Eliza通過Henry一連串的發(fā)音及儀態(tài)訓(xùn)練,最終被改造成優(yōu)雅貴婦。本節(jié)選為Henry和友人打賭的一幕。文本中人物對話靈動風(fēng)趣,性格沖突明顯,通過賞讀此文本,學(xué)生能直白地感受到不同人物性格特征的極大差異,體會到作者語言中用詞的精妙,品味語言背后作者對于當(dāng)時英國的腐朽保守的等級意識的抨擊,對于質(zhì)樸善良的高尚人性的贊美,和對于丑惡虛假的諷刺。
