教學目標
提高學生的口語和閱讀能力,使學生掌握從文本中尋找信息并進行加工的能力,培養學生思辨能力,使學生認識到吸煙的危害性,過一個積極健康的生活。
2學情分析
學生在必修五Unit 4 Making the news剛學過新聞制作,本課使用學生制作的新聞播報作為引入,既讓學生對于學過的知識有實踐的機會,轉化為實際的英語能力,又引出健康生活這一新的話題,提高學生的學習興趣,引發學生深思。學生們普遍對于擁有健康的生活方式這個話題比較感興趣,掌握一定的詞匯和短語,但對健康生活沒有深思,本課旨在給學生創建輕松的氛圍,以文本為媒介通過閱讀,思考,探討,生成等環節,使學生有一個更健康的生活方式。
3重點難點
培養閱讀能力和學生的思辨能力,掌握健康生活的相關詞組及給出建議的表達方式。用健康生活的相關詞組和句式流利的表達觀點和看法,運用于口語和寫作。

4.1.1教學設計
Unit 3 A healthy life
Period 1 Warming Up,Pre-reading,Reading and Comprehending
Teaching Aims:
1.Students can master reading skills, such as skimming and scanning.
2.Students are able to know the harmful effects of smoking and willing to stay away from it.
3.Students get to know how to give advice and how to live a positive and healthy life.
Teaching Key Points and Difficult Points:
Students can master reading skills, such as skimming and scanning.
Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Duty Report
Ask two students to give a news report about harmful effects of smoking. The students should be encouraged to listen carefully and get to know the negative influences that smoking brings us. The students can retell some harmful effects after listening to the duty report.
Step 2 Pre-reading

(1)Can you list any other harmful effects of smoking
(2)Why do you think some adolescents start smoking?
Based on the information that they have got from the news report, students should be encouraged to brainstorm to say more harmful effects of smoking, so that they may have a deeper impression of the negative influences of smoking. Students should also think about the reasons some adolescents start smoking
2.Skim the text and answer the following question
How many parts can the passage be divided into according to the forms of it.
Suggested answers:
Two parts, the first part is a letter and the second part is an Internet page.
Step 3 Reading and comprehending
1.Fast-reading
(1) Ask the students to find out who wrote the letter? to whom? What’s the purpose?
(2)Several topics are given. Ask students to tick what has been written in the passage and
put them into the right order.

Then ask the students to circle the key words of each topic to help students understand the topics better.
2.Detailed-reading
The key points of the passage are the ways to become addicted to cigarettes, harmful effects of smoking and suggestions to quit smoking.
(1)Ask students to read paragraph three carefully and get some specific information about the three ways to become addicted to cigarettes.
After reading, help them to find out connections words which can help them to understand a passage and also be helpful to their composition.
(2)Ask students to scan paragraph 4 and find out the harmful effects of smoking.
(3)Read the second part of the text and find out the suggestions that the granddad gave to James.
Step 4 Role-play
Give the students a situation and let them role-play.
Suppose your friend is addicted to smoking and have trouble in quitting it. You are going to give your friend some advice on how to stop smoking.
Step 5 Discussion
What can we do to live a healthier life?
Step 6 Homework
Make a poster to give a brief introduction to the harmful effects of smoking
