·Teaching procedure Step 1: Warming-up.
1. Greet the students and have a free talk.
2. Ask students whether they do housework at home or not ?
If they do, what do they often do?
Ask them: if they like doing housework at home? Why or
why not?
If they agree that students should help parents
do housework at home? Step 2: Pre-writing
1. Review : Ask students to review the content of 2b and
answer the questions.
① What’s Ms.Miller’s opinion?
② Why does she think so?
③ Does Mr. Smith agree with Ms. Miller? ④ What’s his opinion? ⑤ Why does he think so?
2. Have the students discuss if children should help
parents do housework? Why or why not?
In my opinion, … I believe… I think…
I agree/disagree…
3. Debate: Divide the students into two groups according to their opinions. Have three of them from each group have a debate competition. 4. Discuss the opinions about taking after-school classes in groups.
5. Summarize the students’ reasons for agreeing and disagreeing.
6. Present my passage, analyze the writing elements.

Step 3:While-writing.

With the help of the chart, it’s your turn to write your own passages. Two students, write on the blackboard. Step 4:After-writing.
1. Check (Modify) one of the two students’ compositions together with the symbols.
2. Exchange the compositions with a partner. Have the
students modify and evaluate each other. Ask the students to pay attention to the tips. And ask someone to talk about how he/she modify the composition. Step 5:Homework:
The homework is to modify your composition again. And then write it in exercise books.
