To enable students to get the information from the passage, including the six famous tourist destinations, some words and some sentences etc.
To enable students to know how to introduce a tourist city.

To cultivate students’ interest in reading and presenting.
To develop students’ reading and speaking ability.

Emotion、attitudes and values
To encourage and instruct students to learn more about local history and culture.
Teaching method: group work, situational teaching method, making presentation
Teaching difficulties:
To encourage students to find the feature of the tourist destinations.
To inspire students to act as a guide and express properly.
Teaching Procedures:
Step1 Lead in
Do you like travelling? Have you ever travelled abroad?(ask them to share their experience with us.)If given enough money and a long holiday, where is your dream place?
Purpose: to arose students’ interest of the topic.
Step2 Reading (part one)
Ask students to read the first part to find out the popular tourist destinations and circle them on the map. A question---What are they famous for?
Purpose: to know the famous destinations .
Step 3 Speaking
Ask 6 students to introduce the six places.
Purpose: to repeat the names of these places and their features.
Question: Which one attracts you most? Why?
Purpose: to think how to satisfy a tourist’s demands according to their taste.
Step 4 Reading (part two)
Before reading part two. Ask them a question: if you have a chance there, which one you would prefer---a travel agency or travel independently?
Purpose: to choose a travel agency to arrange a tour.
Ask students to read part two to find the suitable route for the different tourists.
Purpose: to find detailed information of different routes.
Step 5 Presenting
Put the students in pairs to make a dialogue. One act as a guide of Peru, another is the tourist.
Purpose: to inspire students to give suggestions and help make a decision.
to practice in expressing their likes and dislikes.
Step 6 Presenting
Put the students in groups. Give each group a route of Xianning. Then ask 4 students to act as a local guide.
Purpose: to develop the students’ practical ability and arouse their sense of pride to be a native.
Step 7 Homework
A writing task
Purpose; to practice their writing ability
