教學目標:
1. 通過閱讀短文,掌握以下單詞和詞組: serious, hardworking, necessary, mirror, saying,
reach, touch, share, as long as, be different from, bring out, the same as, in fact, be similar to. 2. 理解短文中出現的有關友誼格言的含義:
A good friend is like a mirror.
A good friend helps to bring out the best in me.
A true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
3. 通過閱讀訓練,培養學生理解短文并完成閱讀任務的能力,學會閱讀技巧,利用
scanning ,skimming 和 careful reading 的閱讀技巧提取語篇中的重點信息,并仿照課文,借助形容詞或副詞的比較形式,完成書面表達,描述自己和朋友,發表自己的觀點。 教學重難點:
1. 讀懂短文,完成閱讀任務,理解語篇中關于朋友的格言,并學會閱讀技巧和閱讀策略,
提高閱讀能力。
2. 學會運用形容詞或副詞的比較級,仿照課文會描述自己和朋友的不同特征,陳述自己的
觀點。 教學過程: Step 1. Lead-in
Enjoy a song named the more we get together, make friends in this class and review the comparative forms of some adjectives.
Students enjoy this song and sing the song together.
The more we get together,together,together,the more we get together, the happier we’ll be. For your friends are my friends, and my friends are your friends.
T:Let’s make friends in this class ! We will learn unit 3 I’m more outgoing than my sister section B (2a-2e). Let’s look at the Teaching Aim. Students look at the Teaching Aim together. Step 2. Free talk and revision.
First, introduce two friends of teacher’s and watch a video about teacher’s friends. Then answer some questions.
T: Let’s watch a video and answer three questions:
(1) Who is more outgoing? (2) Who is more serious? (3) Are we the same?
Students answer these three questions.
Then talk about friends, look at three pictures of students’ and talk about their friends in this class. T: Who is she/he? What do you think of her/him? S1: She/He is ....... than me. S2: ..... S3:......
Next compare their friends with them and talk their friends freely like that: My friend is ....She/He is ........ She/He is ...... than me. I am ..... than her/him. T:Today we will talk about three special friends!
Step 3: Learning some reading strategies.
1. Looking at the pictures and making a prediction with the whole passage.
First, before reading the passage, watch these pictures and make a prediction about the passage. T: What’s the passage mainly about? Family? School? Or friends? S: Friends.
T: Yes, you are right!
2. Scanning the passage and finding out some specific information.
First, read the passage quickly and find out the names of these friends, and their friends’ names. Underline the names.
Then scan the passage and find out the comparative forms of some adjectives. And underline the words and phrases.
3. Skimming the passage and finding out the different opinions about friends.
First look through the whole passage fast and find out the different opinions about friends. Then fill in the blank and match the views with the pictures.
4. Careful reading. First, read the first passage carefully and answer some questions and underline the answers in the passage. Questions:
What is Jeff like ? What do Jeff and Yuan Li enjoy doing? S1:...........S2:..........S3:.........
T: We know that Jeff and Yuan Li are friends, they enjoy studying, so to be a good friend, we should enjoy what we like.
Then read the second passage carefully and fill in the blank.

First, talk about the topic sentences in these passages and discuss the functions of these topic sentences.
T: In these passages, there are three topic sentences. Where are they? And what are the functions of these topic sentences?
S1: They are at the beginning of passage. S2: They are at the ending of passage.
T: Yes, they are the opinions about friends, is that right? S: Yes!
T: The top sentences are your opinions about friends, other sentences are supporting sentences. You can compare your friend and you, describe your friends from looks, personalities and hobbies to support your opinions.
Then, give students time to write the compositions my friend and I. And show the compositions in the class.
