教學目標
1. Knowledge aims:
(1) Expressions:

in the face of, achieve, force, nature, even though(even if)
(2) Structure:
The spirit of these climbers show us that we should never give up trying to achieve our dreams.
It also shows that humans can sometimes be stronger than the forces of nature.
3) Grammar: The comparisons with adjectives and adverbs
2. Ability aims:
(1) Get Students to learn facts about Qomolangma.
(2) Get Students to learn to use the comparisons with adjectives and adverbs.
(3) Get students to practice reading for main ideas.
(4) Get Students to know the spirits of the climbers and use them in their lives.
3. Moral Objectives:
Never give up and humans can challenge themselves.
2學情分析
學生在八年級上冊已經接觸過形容詞和副詞的比較級和最高級形式,有一定的語言知識基礎。本單元在八年級上的語言基礎上加以拓展,進一步學習和使用形容詞的最高級。
3重點難點
Important points:
1.Get students to learn to know facts about Qomolangma.
2. Get students to learn to use the comparisons with adjectives and adverbs.
3. Get students to learn how to read for the main ideas.
Difficulties:
1. It’s a bit difficult for students to pronounce some names and words in the passage.
2. It’s a bit difficult for Students to use reading skills while reading.

活動1【導入】warming-up
1、Daily greetings.
2. Free talk: What do you often do to relax?
Sow a picture and tell How's the mountain climbing for Ms. Chen.
設計意圖:1、師生互動交流吸引學生的注意力,預熱課堂。
2、通過照片體驗教師爬山過程的樂趣,與課堂內容“爬珠穆朗瑪峰”進行對比參照,激發學生的興趣和好奇心。
活動2【講授】Pre-reading
1、Talk about the picture from the textbook.
2、Get students to predict the main idea of the passage according to the picture and the title.
設計意圖:根據文章的插圖和標題預測文章內容,這是閱讀技巧的指導滲透,幫助學生提高閱讀能力。
活動3【講授】While-reading
1、Fast reading: Read the passage and match each paragraph with the main ideas.
2、Careful reading: Read each paragraph and finish the tasks.
3、Read the passage with the tape.
4、Fill in the blanks according to the article.
設計意圖:1、多種閱讀技巧的指導訓練提高學生的閱讀能力。 2、跟讀磁帶模仿語音語調,夯實學生的語言基礎。3、根據課文內容語法填空,提高學生的語言運用能力。
活動4【活動】Post-reading
Discssion 1: Students are asked to share their opinions to the question Why is it a quetion mark in the title.
Discussion 2: Students are asked to tell about their future jobs and ask for advice to overcome the "Qomolang" they are facing.
設計意圖:1、論標題問號的使用意圖,幫助學生深層次了解作者的寫作意圖,加深對文章的理解。2、四人小組活動設計解決學生實際生活問題,培養學生堅持夢想,挑戰自我的不服輸精神。
活動5【活動】Sum-up
Guide students to sum up what they can get from the article.
設計意圖:德育滲透,深化文本內涵。
活動6【作業】Homework
Level A: Review the new words and expressions, then finish Period 3 in your exercise book.
Level B: Finish a passage about your “Qomolangma” in your life and how you will face it.
設計意圖:分層次布置作業。LeverA 幫助學生檢測課堂內容的掌握程度。 LeverB 訓練學生的寫作和語言運用能力。
