學情分析
八年級學生作為青少年已經開始有了自己的主張和想法。經過一年半的英語學習,英語有了一定的基礎和交際能力,熟悉對話,小組合作等學習模式,在口語表達和聽力上也有了較大進步。因此,在教學設計上我從實際出發,引導學生在小組自學,小組合作學習中充分發揮互幫互助的優勢,激發他們的學習熱情。
2教學目標
教學目標分為三個板塊:
知識與技能目標 能夠正確地運用以下詞匯 completely, shocked, recently, tower, terrorist, in silence and take down. 理解文章大意,完成閱讀任務。
過程與方法目標 學生能夠通過小組合作學習和探究讀懂歷史重大事件并且能夠運用所讀信息進行交流。
情感態度與價值觀目標 了解歷史事件,從而熟悉美國歷史及文化。同時通過回憶近幾年中國發生的重大事件激起同學們的愛國熱情和社會責任感。
3重點難點
教學重點:能夠運用文章中的語言講述歷史事件
教學難點:通過以上歷史事件讓同學們有更深的思考

4.1第一學時
4.1.1教學活動
活動1【導入】Pre－reading
1.Greetings and getting ready for the lesson
2.Great event 展示出幾張中國歷史上重要事件的圖片,引導學生簡單地從時間,地點,人物等方面進行談論。
活動2【活動】Step 2 While－reading
1.Fast-reading: Read and find out the two events and their dates in the passage.這是第一層次閱讀,了解文章大意。我將文章中心信息歸納成表格,以一分鐘限時閱讀的方式要求學生找到文章和其發生的時間,對文章有個整體的印象。本部分采用限時閱讀的形式。
2.Detailed reading 這是第二層次閱讀,尋找文章細節
Task 1: Read Paragraph 1 and 2 and check T for True and F for False. 要求學生默讀第一 二 段,通過True of False 題型處理生詞,了解Martin Luther King 遇害對美國人民造成的影響。
Supplement: Enjoy a speech from Martin Luther King and learn more about him.The name of the speech is ”I have a dream!”
Imitate Dr. King’s Speech
Task 2 Read paragraph 3 aloud and find a key number for the event. 要求學生大聲朗讀文本第三段,提煉出關鍵詞—the 911 event,并拓展911背后的內涵信息,體會911時間發生的原因。
Task 3: Listen to paragraph 4 and watch a video. Answer the questions
What did Kate see?
What was she doing and where was she?
3. How did she feel?

Write about some questions you have for Robert Allen and Kate.

1.Make a report about an event that you remember well.

通過觀看視頻:中國最近發生的災難性的重大事件引導學生珍惜生活珍愛生命。然后由馬丁路德金的演講引發學生樹立遠大理想,保持積極向上的狀態。
活動4【導入】Step 4 Homework
Write down one of the most unforgettable experiences in your life.
將口頭的表達落實到筆頭上,學生課后可以再次梳理課堂所學,真正學以致用。
