“That is: Yang Yang is taller than wang Junkai. Taller than(use the laser to stress)”
(write on the blackboard: A is taller than B)
T: “Look at Yang Yang and Wang Zulan, Yang Yang is tall, but Wang Zulan is short.”
“tall---taller, short---shorter(stress).”
“We can say ‘Yang Yang is taller than Wang Zulan, or Wang Zulan is shorter than Yang Yang.’”
(ask Tang Linjie and Luo Li to come to the platform, the others compare them)

(ask Zhang Xin and Bai yang to come to the platform, the others compare them)
T: “Compare them, who has longer hair?...... Yes, Bai Yang has longer hair. Then who has shorter hair?......Yes, Zhang Xin has
shorter hair. We can say: Bai Yang has longer hair than Zhang Xin. Or Zhang Xin has shorter hair than Bai Yang.”
“Then, who is heavier?......Yes, Zhang Xin is heavier. And who is thinner?......Yes, Bai Yang is thinner. We can say: Zhang Xin is heavier than Bai Yang, or Bai Yang is thinner than Zhang Xin.”
(Give the two girls two smiles and say to them)

T: “Now, compare this man with the baby. Who is more outgoing?...... Yes, Chen He is more outgoing. Outgoing---more outgoing
(stress). And who is shyer?......Yes. the baby is shyer. Shy---shyer(stress). We can say: Chen He is more outgoing than the
baby. Or the baby is shyer than Chen He. More outgoing than, shyer than(stress).”
T: “Look at these two pictures, they are singing. He sings……loudly. But she sings……more loudly.
Then we can say: she sings ……more loudly ……than he/ him.”
T: “OK, Now, look at the two cars and their prices, they are expensive, right?......Yes, the red car is expensive, but the white car is more expensive. Right?......expensive---more expensive(stress). We c an say: the white car is ……more expensive……than the red car. More expensive than(stress).”

Choose some students(just stand up), let the others to compare.

Step4 Pairwork
Make conversations
T: “Pair work, make conversations, compare yourself with your partner. Foe example, look at the screen. There are two students. The girl says to the boy: You are taller than me, but---I’m thinner than you. And the boy says to the girl: You are smarter than
me, but---I’m funnier than you. She is taller, smarter, but he is thinner, funnier. Both of them have their own shinning points.”

Step 5 Groupwork: Let’s have a PK
Divide students into some groups.(1,2,3,4,5,6…)
Read the rules, let them stand and say one by one.
T: “Let’s have a PK. First, rules. Everyone says a sentence to compare himself/ herself with the classmate beside. Do like this
(show to them): Stand up and say: I am smarter than…then sit down;…. one by one. Clear?”
“Every comparative can be used only once. And the group that has the most comparatives is the winner. I will give you two
minute, OK, go.”
(Walk around, let the group show in turn one by one, the teacher write down the results)

T: “Grammar, today, we learned comparative degree, we change tall into taller, add –er; nice into nicer, only add –r; fat into fatter, double ‘t’, add –er; heavy into heavier, change ‘y’ into ‘I’, add –er; serious into more serious, add more ahead .(use the laser to help stress), Remember? ….. OK, go on.”
Step 8 Summary
T: “Today, we learned some new words and phrases. We also learned a structure: A is taller than B.”
“We also learned: Don’t judge a person by appearance. Maybe he is fat, short, shy, and not good-looking, but maybe he is
smart, funny, kind and hard-working. So we shouldn’t judge a person by appearance, we should look into his heart.”
“Besides, we learned that: Don’t look down on yourself, you are always better than others in some ways. So, please feel good
about yourself.”

活動2【導入】Compare my daughter and me
呈現兩張我女兒和我的照片,讓學生們從身高、年齡、頭發等方面比較。
活動3【導入】Memory Challenge
在用圖片和句子呈現了幾組需要掌握的意思相反的形容詞后,用相同圖片和挖去形容詞副詞的原句,讓學生一口說出缺失的形容詞、副詞,讓學生加深印象。
活動4【導入】Description
讓學生用反義詞描述自己的老師或同學。
活動5【講授】Comparative
用幾組孩子們喜歡的明星,從身高、體重、頭發、性格等方面比較,講授比較級以及比較級的同義句轉換。
活動6【講授】Presentation
直接叫兩組學生上臺,讓其他孩子比較其身高、身材、頭發長短等,練習比較級。
活動7【講授】Comparative
叫一個性格開朗,有明顯胖瘦、高矮、頭發長短等外貌特征的學生上臺和老師比較。
活動8【講授】Little actors
提前讓四組學生準備,用肢體語言和臺詞,如:“ I am shorter than Wang Meng.” " I am taller than Chen Siqin"表演,然后讓其他孩子根據演員的表演進行比較,練習比較級。
活動9【練習】Pair Work
呈現并初步練習完比較級之后,讓學生兩兩組對話,用比較級分別說出對方和自己的優勢。如:“ You are taller than me, but I am thinner than you.”
活動10【練習】Group Work
小組PK,組員挨個輪流用比較級把自己和身邊的同學比較,每個比較級只能用一次,使用正確比較級最多的組為勝利者。
活動11【導入】Listening
每個聽力材料聽兩遍。第一遍回答簡單問題,第二遍把聽力原文中的比較級挖出,讓學生根據聽力填空。
活動12【測試】Exercise
出幾道填空題,讓學生用所給形容詞或副詞的正確形式填空,學生搶答。
活動13【作業】Homework
讓學生以“My best friend and I”為題,寫一篇作文,從身高、體重、頭發、性格等方面比較。
