Unit 6 I’m going to study computer science
Section B 2a-2e
Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge objects:
To master the words: able, be able to, question, meaning, discuss, promise, beginning, write down, physical, themselves, have to do with; self-improvement, take up, hobby, weekly, schoolwork
2. Ability objects:
Help the students to improve their reading ability, and teach them how to finish the reading tasks.
3.Emotion objects:
Encourage the students to keep their resolutions and make themselves to be better persons. Important points and difficult points
Teach the students reading strategies by finishing the tasks according to the passage, and improve the students’ reading ability. Teaching Procedures. Ⅰ. Pre-Reading
Step 1. Watch a video about the New Year’s resolutions which collect by Ss to lead in. (設計目的:讓學生利用因特網搜集信息,并且用QQ群來分享信息。使學生們在課前做好準備工作,充分調動學生學習的積極性。)
Step 2. Talk about the teacher’s New Year’s resolutions to introduce the new words and phrases which can clean the obstacles of words before reading.(設計目的:以老師的個人的新年決心來引入新單詞和話題,充分調動學生的學習興趣,通過談論話題自然過渡到閱讀課。) Ⅱ. While-Reading
Step 3. Task 1. Do fast reading. Read the whole passage in one minute to find the main idea. (設計目的:計時閱讀讓學生學會快速閱讀掌握文章大意,計時的閱讀方法增加閱讀的趣味性。)
Step 4. Task 2. Read the passage paragraph by paragraph to finish 2c, and advise them to find the topic sentence to find the main idea of each paragraph. And lead them to read Paragraph 1, and make the students finish Paragraph 2 and 3. In the end, ask the students to share how to find the answers. (設計目的:教學生通過找中心句的方法來找段落大意,降低閱讀的難度,使學生克服對閱讀的畏難情緒。)
Step 5. Task 3. Read the passage again to finish 2b, put the sentences in the correct places, and give them some advice to help them to read. (設計目的:教學生通過聯系上下文和找關鍵詞的方法來還原句子,突破了學生閱讀題型的一個難點,使學生不再害怕閱讀。)
Step 6. Task 4. Read the passage, and fill in the text structure in groups. It could help the students get to know this passage entirely, and check the answers by asking and answering the questions to arouse the students’ interests. (設計目的:學生通過填寫文本結構來理解全文,教師希望學生通過本堂課的學習,學會自己歸納文章的文本結構。最后老師通過搶答的方式來激發學生參與課堂的積極性。) Ⅲ. Summary
Step 7. Summarize the reading skills using in this class. (設計目的:總結歸納閱讀方法,使學生學有所得。) Ⅳ.Post-Reading
Step 8. Task 5 Rewrite the passage by filling in the blanks with the phrases in 2e.( 設計目的:通過改寫文章來檢查對閱讀材料的理解程度,并且查看學生是否掌握了文章中的重點詞匯。)
Step 9. Task 6 Ask the Ss to ask the question “ Is it necessary for us to make a resolution?” (設計目的:根據對文章的理解,讓學生談論話題。) Ⅴ. Homework
Write a passage about the topic “Is it necessary for us to make a resolution?” (設計目的:讓學生有機會對話題各抒己見,) VI. Emotion Education
Step 10. Quote the old saying, where there is a will, there is a way, and share the video about students’ resolutions, and encourage them to keep their resolutions and make themselves to better and better. (設計目的:通過視頻分享同學的新年決心,讓學生記住并且堅持自己的決心,讓自己變得越來越好。 如諺語所說,有志者事竟成。)
