Step 1. Warming- up 
Listen to the song Heart from TF boys Step 2. Greetings 
T：Hello, boys and girls. I’m very glad to meet you here. 
    Yesterday, I came to Xiangyang. And I watched some of my favorite 
TV shows at night. Do you like watching TV? Step 3. Revision  
１．T：Let’s enjoy some TV shows. While watching TV, ask the students to jump and say the kinds of the TV shows, such as talent show, soap opera, game show, sitcom, sports show and news . 
２．T：What kind of TV shows do you like? 
Ask three to five students to tell us their favorite TV shows. (This part will help the Ss to revise what they learned in the last lesson. The interesting TV shows will arouse the interest of the students in English.) Step 4. Presentation 
T：What kind of TV shows do I like? Can you guess? Yes, you’re so clever. I love you. 
The teacher tries to help the students to get the answer.  S：News.  
T：Do you know why?

T：What kind of TV shows do you plan to watch tonight? 
Click out “plan to …”T：Do you plan to watch soap operas tonight? Write“plan to”on the Bb. S：Yes./ No T：Why? Why not? 
T：My mother plans to watch soap operas tonight because she likes to follow the story and see what happens next. 
Teach the Ss to read the new words 3 times. Get the Ss to practice in groups.

T：Then we can also use“hope/ expect to…” T：Do you hope to watch sitcoms tonight? S1：…  T：Why? 
T：My father is the same as you. He expects to watch sitcoms because he can learn some great jokes from them. 
Teach the Ss to read“joke” T：What is a joke? Let’s listen.   Girls ask, boys answer.

 1. Pair work 
T：This time. Let’s work in pairs. Ask and answer about TV shows.  Who would like to be my partner? Let’s be a model. Get 2 or 3 pairs to act out their conversations. 
(This step will help consolidate the new knowledge they have learned.) 2. Listening 
T：Just now, we talked about our favorite TV shows. How about Sally’s and Lin Hui’s? 
Look at this picture. －Where are they now? 
－What are they doing?(Talking and watching TV) Task1: Number the TV shows 1-5 in the order you hear. 
Play the tape. Ss listen once and finish the task in 2a. Then check the answers. Ask 5 students to tell us their answers. 
Task2 : Listen again and draw happy faces for Sally and Lin Hui. T：What kind of TV shows do Sally and Lin Hui Like? Task3 : Fill in the blanks and retell the conversation.  
Check answers. Choose a group. The members retell the conversation one by one. 
（This part will bring lots of new information to the students. It 
will help practice listening.  And it will make them more confident in class.） 
3. Role-play the conversation. 
T：Look, Grace and Sarah like watching TV, too. They may talk about TV shows at school. 
Task1：Read the conversation quickly and answer two questions. ①What are they discussing? 
②What kind of TV shows do their classmates like?

Check the answers. 
Task2：Read again. Fill the chart and give us a report. Task3：Listen and repeat. 
Task4:  Role-play the conversation with your partner and act it out. 
（In this step, the students are very active. It will make them more 
interested in English. They can learn by doing. ） Step 6. Production 
１．T：Make your own conversation in your groups. 
T：I know you love watching TV so much. Let’s watch TV tonight. But we only have one TV. What should we do? What kind of TV shows do your group plan to watch? Discuss in your groups. 
The other students draw happy faces for their choices. 
（In this part, the Ss will learn to use English in their lives.）

３．T：As we know, different people have different ideas about TV shows. We should watch more educational TV shows. But please don’t watch TV too much. It’s bad for our eyes. Step 7. Summary
