Teaching aims:
1. Master the reading skills ---find out the key words.
2. Be able to conclude the familiar grammar---find out the familiar target language in the text.
3. Be able to find out the main idea of each paragraph.
4. Be able to make an invitation according to their own levels.
(Ss of level A/B are able to write a short invitation; Ss of level C are able to make conversations; Ss of level D are able to fill the blanks of the text. Teaching important and difficult points:

Teaching steps: Step1: lead in Have a revision.
Ask some Ss to review the GF.
Step2: Reading--- Activity 2b
1. Give Ss 3 minutes to find out the main ideas of each paragraph.
At the same time, the teacher remind the Ss to find out the similar sentences of GF.
2. Read Message 3 carefully and fill in the blanks.(work in groups)
Invitation: A surprise party
For whom: Ms. Steen Time: Next Friday, the 28th Preparations: Buy food and drinks
Think of games to play Prepare… (glue, paper…)
Bring Ms. Steen without telling her. Please tell me by this Friday!

Step3: activity 2e (work in pairs)
1. Ask a student to read the questions of 2e.
2. Give Ss 1 minutes to look at the questions if they have problems.
3. Leave Ss 5 minutes to make conversations according to the asking and answer to the questions.
4. Ask some of the pairs to role play the conversations.
5. Let Ss conclude the questions according to the blank of paragraph 3.

Step4: Using and practice according to the activity 2e
1. Ss of each level have their own demands. (work in groups/pairs)
( Ss of level A/B should write a short invitation according to the 2e; Ss of level C should write a conversation; Ss of level D should fill the blanks and find out the “time, who, preparation” of the third paragraph of 2b) 2. Show their works on the projector.
Homework:
1. Correct the writings.
2. Finish the exercises of activity 2c and 2d. 3. Find out the language points of 2b
