Step 1 Warm-up
1. Play a video about a hotel and talk about it with the students.
1. Watch the video about a hotel and make some comments on it.
以五星級酒店的視頻直接導入Hotel的話題,從美好的視覺角度引到學生輕松且自然地進入Comments的主題。

Step 2
Presentation/ Practice
1. Show a picture about Wu Yifan’s family and say “Last weekend, Wu Yifan took a trip with his family and stayed at the Holiday Hotel.”
2.Show the pictures about the Holiday Hotel and lead the students to get some information from the pictures.
3. Present the whole
text and ask students to skim and answer “How was the Wu family’s stay at the Holiday Hotel?” “How do you know that?”
4. Show the comments card.
5. Have the students scan and find the sentences that describe Pictures 1-3.
6. Show the pictures, have the students read the pictures one by one, and help them solve the difficult points.
1. Try to read and learn to say “ stayed at the Holiday Hotel.”
2. Look at the pictures and try to get some information from the pictures.
3. Skim and answer.
4. Try to understand the word “comments”.
5. Scan and find the sentences that describe Pictures 1-3.
6. Find and read the paragraphs with the pictures one by one, and solve the difficult points.
在與視頻中酒店的鮮明對比下,引到學生從對Holiday Hotel外觀的整體印象評價到對Hotel的內部印象評價,把評論的話語權給學生。
一讀文本插圖,使學生在讀圖的過程中獲取文本的主要信息和相關信息。培養學生的觀察能力和判斷能力。
在觀察和思考后,引導學生運用skim(瀏覽式略讀)的閱讀方式,粗中有細略讀,緊抓文本關鍵句。
二讀插圖和文本,在尋讀中找出與插圖相匹配的句子,并對學生進行尋讀技巧的指導,披沙揀金做尋讀,發揮插圖的作用,逐圖分段解決重難點,培養學生良好的閱讀能力和學習策略。

4. Check the letter with the students.
5. Have the students think and say “What would do you then if you were the manager?”

以Mrs Broom為紐帶,順勢進入教材文本的鞏固與拓展。通過圖片了解她的職業及其日常職責,并在學生落筆之前借助板書和插圖(三讀插圖)的力量,既對基礎文本做一個回顧,又對拓展練習做一個鋪墊。
培養學生口頭表達能力的同時,使其逐步形成良好的思維品質,并為課后作業3做適當鋪墊。

Step 4 Homework
Assign homework.
1. Read the letter after the record three times on Students’ Book P18. 2. Complete the table
on P19.
