Unit 4 Body Language Showing our feelings
Period 1 Reading and Speaking
Students: Senior 1 Time: about 30 minutes
Material: Unit 4, Book 4 Type of lesson: Reading and Speaking
Teaching aid: ppt, blackboard
Analysis --- my understanding of this lesson and my students:
This is the first period of this unit. It plays a very important part in the English teaching of this unit And So
I put warming up, using language and speaking together, which are all related to the use of body language. As for the skills, we should lay particular emphasis on the students’ reading ability and speaking ability. It focuses on the students’ abilities to gather information; deal with information; solve problems and the abilities to think and express in English. Meanwhile, the whole unit is all about body language, therefore it is necessary to make students understand the importance of body language in communication. After that, they will avoid being misunderstood when using body language in different situations.
By the way, as my students are poor in English, to get them to understand this passage better, I’ll encourage them to do some speaking, reading and writing. Of course, the students should receive some moral education. Generally speaking ,My teaching methods rely on whether the students’ reading ability is good or poor. As junior student of grade one, they can understand some easy articles and master some basic reading skills .

besides spoken language and written language, we still have body language. Please look at the two pictures. What are they feeling?

Blackboard Design Unit 4 Body Language Showing our feelings Function Similarity difference
Teaching reflection(教學(xué)反思):
Based on the objectives, I have realized most of them. Generally, I enable the students to understand that body language is sometimes more powerful than spoken language. In addition, they came to realize the same body language can still have different meanings in some cases. However, I should be more careful to control the time. Because the time I spent on the reading part is a little short that some students do not fully get some key information.
