Step 1. Lead-in
Ss are asked to recall how they finish their homework of writing an expository text.
Arouse the students’ interest to learn the steps of writing an expository text.
Step 2.
Writing steps
Teacherpresents the three steps of writing an essay—
pre-writing, while-writing and post-writing, and point out the pre-writing part is the most important one, in which we need to analyze the purpose, audience, structure and content of the essay.
Heighten students’ awareness of identifying the audience, purpose and structure of an expository text.
Step 3.
Ss identify the audience, purpose and structure of the essay they have written. Teacher explains the main factors in writing an expository text.
