By writing a short passage using the learned words, enable students to use the structure freely and creatively and know more about the applications of computers in our daily life.
Step I Greetings and leading-in
Play a guessing game and then students will know the new words and the development of computers:
abacus---calculator----huge computer--- PC ---- laptop---- PDA ---- robot
Step II Discovering useful words and expressions in certain sentences in the reading context, and then learn the usage of these words and phrases.

According to the given Chinese and the pictures, students can make up some sentences using the learn t news vocabularies.
1. Hello, everyone. I am a robot, XD. I have a lot in common with humans.
2. I am very clever, so I can help students solve many questions and provide them with any help.
3. I have many applications, such as, cleaning the floor, looking after patients, and even playing football.
4. My goal is to have a baby. But it is impossible. Anyhow, I will try hard to have a try. Step IV Basic writing
According to the above sentences students made and their imagination, students can write a short passage to practice the new vocabularies, moreover, they can try to use the new words to express their ideas about the future applications of computers and try to improve their creativity and ability of speaking. The topic is: I am a robot and what can I do for you? Step V Homework
