1) Make students grasp the types and the structures of the subjunctive mood 2) Learn how to use them and practice to get familiar with the grammar
3) In different teaching activities, make students realize the importance of time, to make good use of money and let them be aware of their responsibilities for their city and the environment.
4) In the class, some famous people are introduced to the students, making them learn not only from their success but also make them know that we can learn from others through their failures and mistakes. 重 點 The emphasis should be put on how to use the grammar in the students’ daily life

Step1 Lead-in
1. Play a game with students and ask them to guess who he is. If I worked hard, I would have money. If I had money, I could buy a ticket.
If I hadn’t won the ticket, I wouldn’t have been on board. If I hadn’t been on board, I wouldn’t have met her. If I hadn’t met her, we wouldn’t have fallen in love.
If I were alive, I would marry her some day.

2. Ask the students the question to help them understand the function of the grammar.

Step 3 Practice and consolidation
1. According to different types, give students some sentences to complete by using the grammar. Task 1 The past subjunctive
Leonardo DiCaprio ---- If he __________ (give) up his efforts, he ______________ (not, win) the Oscar for best actor.
Piao Jinhui ---- If she ______________ (not, abuse) her power, she __________________________ (not, put) into prison.
Chinese national football team ---- If they ______ (win) the game, they _______________ (not, realize) there was still room to improve.
Group work: Tom has just got fired. Describe the pictures by using the past subjunctive mood.
T: Work hard but don’t be afraid of failure.
