教學目標
 1.Knowledge and skills
  a. To know the important words and phrases:
    poem , recite, rhyme, rhythm, nursery, convey, tease, concrete, flexible, salty, endless, minimum, translation, eventually, transform……
  b. To learn about some simple forms of English poems.
  c. To develop the students’ reading ability by skimming and scanning.
  d. To develop the students’ speaking ability by talking about the characteristics of some simple forms of English poems.
 2. Process and methods
  a. To help students master the ability of skimming
  b. To help students train the speaking ability
  c. To help students establish the sense of cooperating each other
 3. Emotion , attitude and value
  a. To cultivate students’ appreciation of poetry and the ability understanding, enjoying and writing poems.
  b. To develop students’ sense of cooperative learning.
2學情分析
      The reading passage outlines the characteristics of five simple forms of English poems and includes examples of these forms. It’s the first time that students got into the learning of simple English poems, teacher should help students learn the basic characteristics of these poems and encourage them to try to write a few simple poetry.
3重點難點
  1. To help the students to learn about some simple forms of English poems and to develop their reading ability.
  2. To help the students to write their own poems.

 Q1. Why do people write poetry?
 Q2. How many kinds of poems are there in the reading passage?What are they?
Task 2 Careful reading and enjoy poems
(To enjoy the five kinds of poems one by one and get the characteristics of each kinds of poems)
 1. Nursery rhymes
  Hush, little baby, don’t say a word,
  Papa’s going to buy you a mockingbird.
  If that mockingbird won’t sing,
  Papa’s going to buy you a diamond ring.
  If that diamond ring turns to brass,
  Papa’s going to buy you a looking glass.
  If that looking-glass gets broke,
  Papa’s going to buy you a billy-goat.
  If that billy-goat runs away,
  Papa is going to buy you another today
 a. Listen to the song
 b. Sing it together
 c. Analyze this Nursery rhyme
 d. Read the second paragraph and find out the characteristics of Nursery rhymes, then fill in the blanks on your paper.

 Teaching reflection(教學反思)
      After this class, students have learned five kinds of English poems by reading, speaking, enjoying, presenting and sharing, and have got the characteristics of each poem. They can read the poems with heart and get the deep understanding of the poems. It’s a good way to help students try to write some simple forms of English poems after learning the five kinds of poems.
