Who can say a festival in China or western countries? Say it as soon as possible then put festivals in correct columns on whiteboard. Ask one student to do it. (Clap him or her) 3. Page 61,2a.
Ask and answer: What traditional food do people eat on special holidays in China? Look at the pictures and answer questions together.
T:What do you usually eat on Spring Festival/ Mid-autumn Day/Dragon Boat Festival/ Lantern Festival?

1. Do you know Thanksgiving?
Explain Macy’s Thanksgiving parade and what Americans usually do during Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy some pictures about Thanksgiving Day on the screen.
2.Listen to the article and answer the question---What
do American people usually eat on Thanksgiving? Turkey. ( Students answer together)
3.Read the article as quickly as possible. Then try to get the main idea of each part.
Give Ss 2 minutes to scan the article. Ask two students to show their main idea of each part. Part one-- Thanksgiving in the United States Part two—How to make a turkey dinner ★Step 3 While-task
1. Read passage one carefully then work in group of four and discuss the meaning of each sentence , find out the key points in the passage.
Ask some students to tell the expressions, then the teacher explains the phrases--- fill…with …and be full of…
Ask students to make examples with the phrases. Read passage one again then do the five questions. The first two questions---true or false. The following three questions , ask one student to answer the three questions.
If there is no question let’s move on.
2. Read passage two and number the pictures 1—5.
Ask one student to write numbers 1-5 on the whiteboard. Encourage students if they are shy and nervous.
Then give big hands to the student.
Reread passage two and retell the passage how to make a turkey dinner. Pay attention to the adverbs of sequences –First, next, then, finally.
Make Students read the article again quickly. Then ask them to look through the exercise 2d
Ask one student to come to the front and do exercise 2d. Write numbers 1-4 and write down first, next, then & finally. (Big hands for him or her) Check the answers on the whiteboard. ★Step 4 Post-task
Try to understand passage two if there is no problem let’s enjoy a video about Thanksgiving.
Then make a dialogue about festivals. Work in groups.
Ask three groups to present their dialogues.(Big hands)

There is poem for you. Listen to a beautiful song
when I read the poem and try to find a big secret behind the poem.
1.Review the article on Page 61. 2.Do the exercises in students' book.
