Unit 6 Meet my family
1.整體設計思路、指導依據說明
< Meet my family > is a lesson from unit six of the PEP English. This lesson is to know the names of some family members, and how to introduce your family member. I will create the real life situation to teach the patterns and guide the pupils to use patterns correctly, At the same time arouse the interests of the pupils to learn English .
2.教學背景分析
教學內容分析：
Through the learning of the lesson, the pupils can master the names of some family members，and they can introduce them to others. Through taking part in some activities ,they can say the names of family members correctly, They can use correct sentences to introduce their family, and describe the characteristics of their family. In the development activities, I add some old sentences to get pupils describe others in detail.
學生情況分析：
Through the class, we make the pupils know the skills of listening, speaking, reading and so on. They can say the new words correctly. And they can also introduce and describe others correctly . In the class, the pupils like to play games. They can learn many things from the games and then
they will fell happy to learn English.
3.教學目標分析
1. The pupils can read and understand the five words ,and use sentences to introduce their family
2. The pupils can introduce and describe their family. 3. Through the class, the pupils can exchange ideas with others and they can use the knowledge that they had learned to communicate.
4. Arouse the interests of the pupils to learn English and encourage them to speak English loudly and bravely.
4.教學重點、難點分析
教學重點：Enable pupils to read and understand words：
parents,cousin,uncle,aunt,baby brother. They can use these patterns correctly: This is my……He’s …..
教學難點：1.The usages of these patterns.2.The pronunciation
of “parents”
5.教學過程設計
Step 1：warm-up
a. A free talk between teacher and pupils. b. Listen and sing a song together.
Design intent：At the beginning of class, I used a song to attract the
attention of pupils and recall their affection.
Step 2：Presentation
1. Show some pictures to introduce Liuxing’s family to review old words :father.mother.brother.sister.grandpa.grandma.tall.short.fat.thin.clever.kind.pretty.beautiful. At the same time, I teach new words: parents.baby brother.uncle.aunt.counsin.
2. Teach the text. First, pupils listen. then try to answer questions about the text. then, they try to repeat the text one sentence by sentence. While explaining some key words.
Design intent：By watching pictures, let the pupils can say the new
words and know the meanings of them. Popular TV figure can stimulate pupils’ interests in learning. By following reading the text, pupils can understand the new words deeply.
Step 3：Practice
1. Play a game.” What’s missing?”
Pupils remember some words in short time, teacher get one word disappear ,pupil say out the missing word.
2. Do exercises, pupils choose the correct answers. teacher check the answers.
Design intent：Through playing the missing game, pupils can get
more familiar with the new words, and they get a lot of fun too. Doing the exercises, it can help pupils understand the correct meanings of the new words.
Step 4：Sentence patterns
With playing video, a gilrl Jiajia introduce us her family, Teacher tell pupils the meanings and usages of new sentence patterns.
Design intent：Through watching the video, pupils can understand
the pattern deeply and explicitly. It is easer for them to use these structures in right situations.
Step 5: Consolidation
1. Activity:
Introduce their family to their partners with their drawing family photos. Then invite some individuals to talk about it. 2. Sing a family song.
First, teach pupils to sing an adapted song related to the new sentence patterns, And then encourage pupils to make their own songs.
Design intent： The pair work gets the pupils in a simulation of the
real scene to practice English, the pupils can use
English to solve problems in life, so that they know how to use the patterns clearly. Singing a family song makes pupils feel the joy of learning English.
Step 6: Summary
1. Teacher show some pictures about parents, school, country, world. Pupils can understand the broad meanings of family. At the same time, they experience the genuine affections. 2. Make a summary.
Design intent：By watching pictures, pupils are touched by family affection, they understand to love family more. Using competitions between boys and girls , and using steps as a carrier for motivation. the children participate in classroom activities more actively, so classroom atmosphere is better.

布置作業：
Draw a family tree then talk about it with your parents.
