1. 文本分析:
本單元的話題為歌頌堅韌不拔的頑強精神,本課為該單元的第一節閱讀課,是一篇日記體文章,作者以第一人稱的方式生動地描寫了親身經歷的南極探險故事。1914年以沙克爾頓伯爵為首的28名勇士搭乘“持久號”前往南極探險,這次探險被稱為一次“成功的失敗”。說失敗,是因為他們還沒到達目的地,船就沉了,沒有完成任務;說成功,是因為全船的人意志堅強,團結一致,克服了重重困難,最終奇跡般全部生還;诖耍O計本節課的閱讀任務:1)通過梳理故事情節學習日記倒敘的記敘方式,幫助了解南極探險途中的各種險境,感受此
次探險的艱難;2)通過分析人物的情感態度的變化,體會在船長沙克爾頓的帶領和影響下,全體船員不怕困難,勇往直前,團結協作以及積極樂觀的優秀品質,從而深刻理解“成功的失敗”的真正含義。
通過本節課的學習,希望一方面教會學生分析日記的語篇結構和語言特點,另一方面鼓勵其在面對困難時敢于嘗試,持之以恒并保持積極樂觀的態度,啟發學生對成功與失敗的思考。 2. 難度分析:
1)南極探險的話題離學生的實際生活比較遙遠,向讓學生在情感上產生強烈的共鳴,并把所學所感遷移到自己的日常生活,有一定難度。
2)本文的篇幅較長,話題詞匯中生詞較多,對學生閱讀和理解會產生一定干擾。 教學目標
1. 語言知識:
1) 學習有關南極探險的表達,鞏固描述人物情感、性格和品質的相關表達; 2)進一步學習日記體文章的語篇結構特征及語言特點,理解故事內容及人物感受; 3)通過語篇特征推斷語篇內容,識別文中的時間順序,并根據上下文推斷人物性格。 2. 文化意識:
從對文章的主題的分析和思考中獲得積極的人生態度和價值觀念啟示。
3. 思維品質:
1) 通過比較分析、歸納總結的手段,提升學生思維的邏輯性;
2)通過對比分析將語篇內容與自身經歷聯系起來,培養思維的批判性。 4. 學習能力:
1)在語境中學習詞匯;
2)根據篇章標題、圖片和關鍵詞,預測和理解篇章的主要內容; 3)通過快速瀏覽理解篇章各部分的大意;通過掃讀獲取篇章具體信息;

Step 1: Warming-up
1) Talk about success and failure in the school sports
meeting, and ask students to think whether it’s possible to have success and failure at the same time.
Arouse students’ interest and get ready for the class.
Step 2: Pre-reading
1) Ask students to watch a video to find out why the event is considered “a successful failure”;
2) Predict the difficulties people might encounter when
going on the expedition to Antarctica.

Step 3:
While-reading 1) Scan for quick facts concerning who, when and what; 2) Discuss the genre and its feature;
3) Assign the tasks: find out the difficulties and understand the title;

5) Read for details: Draw a storyline, find out the difficulties and check the predictions;
Find out the writer’s feelings and attitudes at the beginning and the end of the diary; 6) Summarize

Step 4: Post-reading

successful failure in daily life, and ask them to share their understanding and experiences;
3) End the lesson by quoting Shackleton’s words related to
“a true failure”.
