Learning about language Teaching background 教學內容分析
本單元以世界紀錄為中心話題,本節課是本單元的第二課時,Learning about language部分,也就是詞法和句法。詞法第一塊涉及五個重點詞匯和他們的常見詞形的構成,音,形,意和用法;第二塊涉及有關體育運動詞匯(這部分是與生活息息相關的生活中的語匯)的復習,總結和歸納。句法涉及不同形式的主語,即動名詞,不定式,主語從句等做主語的復習與運用。 學生基本情況簡介
自然狀況: 城鄉結合高中高三理科班學生,學生水平比較整齊,英語學習主動性較強,合作競爭意識強,在老師的指導下能積極的參與課堂。
存在問題:部分學生口語表達能力和書面表達還有待于進一步提高。 Teaching aims
The students will be able to
1. learn words (motivation,accomplish, adjustment, approximate, devotion ) in the real context by playing games and doing exercise;
2. learn to talk about their favorite sports with my partner by making a dialogue; 3. practise using different forms(words,phrases,nonfinites, clauses) as subject by finishing writing a short passage about their favorite sport. Teaching mains and difficulty Teaching mains
Vocabulary Learn new words ----motivation,accomplish, adjustment, approximate, devotion and their common forms. Brainstorm words related to sport.

How to use different forms(words,phrases,nonfinites, clauses) as subject in writing Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Greetings and checking homework
Activity: Check the key forms of key words filled by students on the blackboard.
Purpose: Check if students have consulted the dictionary to know the Verb, Noun and Adjective forms of the five key words before class. Step 2. Learning objectives
Activity: Students read three learning objectives together.
Purpose: let each student be sure of what will be focused on in the class. Step 3. Warming up
Activity: Choose any five of the above key words (the five key words and their common seen forms)and write them down. Teacher will read out the word one by one and in any order. If any student have written down one of them teacher call out they cross it off. When any student have crossed off all their five words they tell teacher by shouting 'Bingo'. The fisrt student who shouts bingo is the winner.The winner will play teacher’s role. Purpose:By playing a BINGO game to practice getting more familiar with the pronunciation and the form of each key word. Step 4. Vocabulary
Task1 Matching the new vocabulary with its English explanation. approximate to succeed in doing sth; to achieve
adjustment act or state of providing sb with a reason or cause for doing sth accomplish act of changing slightly in order to fit into a particular job or new conditions
devotion sth correct but not exact
motivation deep strong love; giving of oneself to sth
Purpose: By matching the new vocabulary with its English explanation, students can know the real meaning of each English words and then they can learn how to use them in the real context.
Task2 Using new vocabulary in the real context (group work)
1. He is _____________ to his wife and gives her anything she asks for. 2. Can you tell me the________________ number of athletes in your club?
3. It was a huge ___________________ for her to reach the top of the mountain. 4. Some people have the ability to __________ others to try to achieve their goals.
5. She has ___________ to the fact that she will never win the 400 metre-swimming event.
Purpose : To learn vocabulary while in using is an important and s useful way to learn vocabulary.
Attention: A short video to arouse Ss’ interest in sports events and playing a sport they like best, and after watching the video ,ask a student to express his\her understanding of the video. It’s also a preparation for the following task. Task3 Brainstorming
Activity: Let Ss compete to brainstorm as many sports related words and adjectives to describe the training and the events as possible .
Purpose: To arouse Ss’ interest in sports and get a useful way, The Mind Map to recite and collect words in English vocabulary learning. Step 5. Speaking out (pair work)
Task: Describing Your Favorite Sport. You should mention: 1) your sport item
2) your frequency and place for playing it 3) your reasons for loving it. 4) or the benefits you get from it.
Activity: Students practice speaking out their dialogue in pairs.
Purpose: Learning sports related words and phrases while using to express their interest in sports.
Step 6. Discovering grammar structure
Task1 Reading the following quotations and idioms, trying to translate them into Chinese and pointing out the subject in each sentence. 1. Constant dripping wears away a stone.
滴水穿石
2. One’s words reflect one’s thinking.
言為心聲
3. Success belongs to the persevering(堅持不懈的).
堅持就是勝利 4. A good beginning makes a good ending.
善始善終
Purpose: Pay attention to different forms of subject. Task2 Describing the picture
5. To be an English teacher is her dream. 6.To see is to believe.

覆水難收 It is no use crying for spilt milk.
8. 我最喜歡的是你的發型。 What I like most is your hairstyle. 9. 我需要的就是休息。 What I need is rest.

他是不是我的孩子仍然是個問題。 Whether he is my child remains a question. Purpose: Using different forms of subjects to finish some tasks. Task3 Micro writing and presentation (individual work)
Activity: Using the words and structures we have reviewed to write a short passage about a sport you like best, and then share two of them with the whole class.
Purpose: Using the vocabulary and structure we have learnt and reviewd while writing about their favorite sports and sportsman. Step 7. Consolidation and homework
Activity: Ask a student to summarize what have learnt in this class. Step 8. Blackboard design

本堂課使用多媒體教學,能夠調動學生英語學習的積極性,為學生創設了良好的英語交際環境。課堂設計合理,結構流暢,成功的達到教學目標。課堂中,教師不僅是知識的傳授者,還成為學生學習的促進者、指導者、組織者、幫助者、參與者和合作者,此外,教師的教學設計還體現了重視學生的個性和興趣這一面。亮點是,以任務型教學為原則,而且每一個任務都是圍繞學習者“學”的角度設計的。每一個活動都具有明確的目的指向和具體的操作要求,實現了英語在真實情境中的應用,尤其是讓學生在用語言的過程中自然的習得語言知識與技能,同時激發了學生對于體育運動的興趣。
總之,本課以學生為主體,任務型教學為主線,合作教學為原則,以多媒體為教學手段,突出交際性,重視說與寫的實用性。經過授課達到了預期的授課效果。 2019.7.8
