1.教學內容分析
本課時的閱讀篇章以第一人稱講述了因為對英語電影的喜愛,一名英語學習被動、困難的學生轉變為一名主動學習英語,并且熱愛英語的學生的故事。這是一個典型的敘事性文本。文章首先介紹了主人公Wei Fen 在英語學習中遇到的問題和困難,其次介紹主人公通過觀看英文電影的方法,逐漸對英語學習產生了興趣,進而學會了如何學習英語;最后概說主人公的這個經歷給讀者帶來的啟迪和思考。教師在這節閱讀課的教學中應注意在訓練、發展學生閱讀水平的同時,能幫助他們意識到提高學習興趣以及改進學習方法的重要性,進而引導學生形成面對困難、永不放棄、積極找尋對策的這種生活和學習態度。
2.學生情況分析
語篇主人公Wei Fen 在一開始的英語學習中遇到的困難、到后來找到適合自己的學習方法,對英語學習逐漸產生了興趣進而改變了自己英語學習的現狀的一個親身經歷的描述,不但貼近學生的生活實際,而且還能在很大程度上激發學生相同的情感共鳴和閱讀興趣。
3.教學目標分析
語言知識目標:
能理解并運用下列重點詞匯:expression, discover, secret, grammar, look up;
能根據上下文語境推測生詞或短語的含義。 語言技能目標:
能談論自己以及他人的學習方法;
能運用篇章核心句型描述主人公以及自己的英語學習經歷。 情感目標:
通過閱讀,使學生懂得學會學習以及面對困難永不放棄的的重要性。
4.教學重點、難點分析
教學重點:
在閱讀過程中,培養根據上下文語境推測生詞或短語的能力;
能夠根據閱讀文章的邏輯框架口頭表達并描述自己的個人學習經歷。 教學難點:
培養學生學會自我反思,主動調整自己的學習方式,根據自己的學習特點選擇相應的學習 策略和方案。
5.教學過程設計
Step 1:Warming-up
Talk about students’ ways in English learning: How do you learn English?
設計意圖:通過這個問題的設計,了解學生英語學習的現狀,從而為后面的教學做好鋪墊。
Step 2:Lead-in
Show students two pictures to help them learn more about ways in English learning. And ask some questions: Do you learn English by ...? Does it help? Have you learnt English by ...? (ppt-2) Teach the new words and phrases: do grammar exercises, look up new words in a dictionary
設計意圖:通過談論學生學習英語的方法,既能快速激發學生的閱讀興趣,又能順其自然地
處理部分生詞,為閱讀做好鋪墊。 Step 3:Pre-reading
1. Show Ss the picture from the textbook and introduce the main character: Look! Here comes Wei Fen. She’s also English learner. How does she learn English? (ppt-3)
2. Show the title of the article: How I Learned to Learn English. Ask Ss the question: Look at the title! Can you predict what the passage will be about? (ppt-3)
設計意圖:讀前結合課文插圖以提問的方式開展活動,其主要目的也是為了激發學生的閱讀興趣,通過對文章的主要內容進行猜測,使學生饒有興趣地期待在閱讀過程中來驗證自己的猜測。 Step 4:While-reading
1. Ask Ss to read the story and match the main idea with each paragraph. Tell Ss to pay attention to the topic sentences. (ppt-4)
設計意圖:選出中心思想可以幫助學生梳理文章的脈絡,關注文本的框架。
2. Ask Ss to read the passage paragraph by paragraph carefully and finish the following tasks:
Task 1: 1) Read Para1 and find out Wei Fen’s problem in English learning by asking them questions and complete the chart: When did Wei Fen have the problem? What was her problem? How did she feel about her English class? Why did she have such a terrible feeling? What did she do in English class? (ppt-5)
2) Read Para1 and let students imagine Wei Fen’s feeling at that time. (ppt-6)
Task 2: 1) Read Para 2 and ask them some questions: What happened to her then? How did she like it? Did she become interested in watching English movies after that? What was her way to learn English? What did she learn from watching movies? (ppt-7-10)
2) Read Para 2 and get students guess the meanings of some new words in the passage and ask them a question: What is your secret to language learning?
3) Read Para 2 and complete the sentences with what Wei Fen learned from watching movies in 3b. (ppt-11)
Task 3: Read Para 3 and ask three questions: How does she like her English class now? What does she want to do later? What’s your plan in English learning? (ppt-12)
設計意圖:通過提問、尋找答案、思維導圖以及的填空和同義詞替換的形式幫助學生更好地整理思路、把握文章的細節內容,培養上下文猜測詞義的能力和遣詞造句的能力。 Step 5:Post-reading
1. Ask students to talk about Wei Fen’s experience in English learning in pairs and ask a question: What do you think of Wei Fen’s experience in English learning? (ppt-13)
2. Get Ss to discuss in groups about the questions: Why does Wei Fen enjoy her English class now? Why does she share her experience? Encourage students to share their ideas. (ppt-14)
設計意圖:通過同伴練習和小組討論幫助學生領悟文章“遇到困難永不放棄,積極找尋對策”的精髓。
