Unit 6 I’m going to study computer science.
Section A (1a-1c)
一、教學目標: 1. 語言知識目標: 1) 能掌握以下單詞:
grow up, computer programmer, cook, doctor, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientist, be sure about, make sure 能掌握以下句型:
① ─What do you want to be when you grow up? ─I want to be a basketball player. ② ─How are you going to do that?
─I’m going to practice basketball every day. ③ Where are you going to work? ④ When are you going to start? ⑤ I’m not sure about that. 2) 能了解以下語法:
掌握一般將來時態的構成形式; 3) 用一般將來時態表達將要做的事情。 2. 情感態度價值觀目標:
1)認識到職業的多樣性,能夠平等看待每一份職業;
2)能借小組活動的機會,積極用英語和其他同學交流,談論未來的理想職業;3)能通過對未來話題的討論,樹立自己的生活目標和制定相應的學習計劃,并為實現自己的理想不斷努力
二、教學重難點 1. 教學重點:
1) 學習一般將來時態的構成方式。
2) 學習本課時出現的重點句型,通過在不同情景下運用來熟練運用一般將來時態。 2. 教學難點:

用一般將來時態表達自己未來的打算。
三、學情分析
知識層面:在本課之前,學生已經學過一些職業的表達以及want to do 結構,能夠簡單地談論自己的職業理想,所以可以通過“以舊引新”的方法呈現目標語言。
學生風格:整體上來說本班的學生英語成績較好,較為活潑,對英語學習興趣較為濃厚,能夠積極參與課堂活動,但還不是特別自信和從容,需要多加鼓勵。
三、教學過程
Teaching procedure(教學過程):
Step1 lead in(導入):
1. describe my dream job and my current job to introduce the topic today.
2. Play a song be what you wanna be,ask Ss to write down the jobs mentioned in the song. 3. Ask Ss’ opinion about theses jobs: What do you think of these jobs?
________, ________, ________ or _______ Why not________, be a dreamer You can be just the one you wanna be ___________, __________or__________ Why not something like your old man
You can be just the one you wanna be
________, ________, ________ or _______ Why not________, be a dreamer You can be just the one you wanna be
I know that we all got one thing

Step2 Presentation(課堂呈現):
Activity1: Let Ss guess the job according to the description and then lead them to summarize the word formation(-er/-or/-ist)
I teach in Changsha Foreign Language School. I drive on the street. I play basketball well. I act in films.
I write programs (程序) for computers. I play the violin well.
I can play the piano beautifully. I study (研究)science.
I cook delicious food for others. I fly a plane.
I always make the sick better. I build roads and bridges.
Activity 2:Act and guess
Let one student act and describe the job in English, and let the other student guess.
Step3 Listening
1. Tell Ss to read the words of jobs in the chart.
2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and fill in the blanks.
3. If necessary, play the recording again. Ss listen and match the jobs with activities. 4. Ask Ss to give answers and show the answers on the big screen.

Step4 Pair work
1. Give a model to the Ss and let them to talk about their dream jobs. 2. Let Ss work in pairs.
3. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations.
4. Show several famous people’s pictures and let Ss to describe these people’s job.

A: Where are you going to work?

Step5 Group work
1. Ask Ss to interview their group members’ future plan and do a survey. 2. Give them a model.
Interview:
I am a reporter from CCTV, may I ask you some questions?
• What do you want to be when you grow up? • Why ?
• How are you going to do that? • Where are you going to work?
Step 6 Summary
Share a poem with students
Hold fast to dreams 緊緊抓住夢想, For if dreams die 夢想若是消亡
Life is a broken-winged bird 生命就象鳥兒折了翅膀 That can never fly. 再也不能飛翔 Hold fast to dreams 緊緊抓住夢想, For when dreams go 夢想若是消喪
Life is a barren field 生命就象貧瘠的荒野, Frozen with snow 雪覆冰封,萬物不再生長
Step 7 Homework
Ask Ss to prepare a speech about their dream job.
