八年級（上）Unit5 Do you want to watch a game show? 
Teaching Aims: 
1. Try our best to master the following key words and phrases: take one’s place, replace, dress up/as, do a good job, army. 2. Students are able to write a movie review by writing skills. 
3. Arouse students’ interest in discussing their favorite TV shows or movies. 
4. Improve students communicating skills by doing 3b and 3c. Teaching Methods: 
1. Employ autonomous and cooperative approach. 2. Pair work and group work. Emotional Aim: 
Encourage most of students to share their favorite movies or shows with their partners. 
Teaching Important and Difficult points: 
1. Students can make sentences or dialogue by the given phrases. 2. How to write a movie review properly. 
3. Master the new words and target language points by different practicing. 
 Pre-class Preparation:  PPT, a piece of paper  
                    
             
                    
                            Teaching Procedures: Step1: Warm up 
1.1 Let’s review some phrases by given the Chinese meanings. 1.2 Lead students to talk about the movie of Mulan. Step2: Presentation 2.1Teach Activity 3a  
(a) Show some new words or phrases by ppt. (b) Compare with their similar language points usages. (c) Practice the four new points by filling the blanks. 2.2 Reading and filling the blanks.  
(a) Invite some students to fill and translate them into Chinese (b) Explain the grammar problems if it is needed. Step3: Practice 3b&3c 
3.1Introduce a movie review of 《The Lion King》by ppt. 3.2 Give the students enough time to write their own reviews. 3.3The teacher will give some tips for considering. 
3.4The teacher invites some students to share in front of class. Step4: Consolidation: Self-Check 
4.1 Make some sentences by the given phrases. ( Pair Work) 4.2 Discuss different kinds of movie and list at least one reason in 
front of class. Step5: Homework 
 
                    
             
                    
                            Write your another movie review using the notes in 3b to your parents or friends. 
Post-Teaching Reflections: 
    In this class, we have learned some new phrases movies and shows. Although most students tried their best to write their own movie reviews, there are some grammar problems and other difficulties in their writing. After class I will pay more attention to help some of them.
