本課題選自牛津英語教材五年級上冊第四模塊第三單元，單元主題是Fire,本課是最后一個課時。第一課時與第二課時主要學習用火安全的標志與森林防火滅火，突出火的危險性。本課時是第三課時，課
型是Read a story,但文本中語言點和前面兩個課時的語言點不相關而且人物情節也無關聯。本課故事主要講述石器時代的Yaz一家人因為一次偶然事件發現經過火燒之后的食物更美味。編者意圖在于通過故事閱讀使學生更加全面地了解本單元主題——火，它不僅具有危險性同時也可以給人類生活造福。
學情 分析
五年級的學生經過四年的英語學習，具備良好的英語學習習慣和小組合作意識。學生對本單元話題Fire具備相關生活經驗與科學常識，但是用英語描述所知信息仍有一定困難。

本課教學設計思路是借助學生喜聞樂見的神奇校車帶領大家一起
“穿越”到石器時代，激發閱讀興趣從而開展一步步的閱讀活動。設計活動時先讀標題，并提問，以學生感興趣的問題進入故事閱讀，通過情景再現、表演體驗達到理解閱讀材料的目的，最終通過對板書的復述完成對閱讀材料的概括以及對本單元主題的歸納。 教學 目標 定位
語言能力目標：
1. 學生能夠通過完成讀后活動，在語篇中捕捉到不同類型的信息。能夠了解Yaz一家人如何在偶然事件中發現用火燒食物，即故事發生的過程，并在文本中理解heat and light, raw meat, throw的含義；
2. 學生能夠借助板書復述課文故事；
3. 學生能夠借助課文的語言，輸出關于如何發現用火燒食物的另一版本的故事。
文化意識目標：學生能夠了解石器時代的生活以及用火情況，對于火
形成更全面的看法。
思維品質目標：1.能夠分析和推斷信息的邏輯關系，完成故事山。 2.能夠創造性地表達另一個版本用火煮食物的故事。 學習能力目標：能學會用不同渠道獲取英語學習資源，如利用網絡。

借助板書框架，概括并復述故事。
詢問學生對于這個故事真實性的看法有助于學生形成質疑的習慣。而通過網絡搜索自己的疑問更是給學生示范了如何運用資源來解決自己學習中遇到的疑難問題，是一種學習策略的演示。
