設計思路
新課程理念下的英語課堂教學強調學生學習過程，強調學生參與，強調學生發展。根據這一理念，在設計本課時，在明確教學目標的前提下，注重以學生為中心，以活動為主線, 通過設計多樣的教學活動，充分調動學生學習積極性，使學生通過各種活動的開展和臺階的搭設，掌握本課所學重點。同時注重學生知識與能力的共同發展，引導學生在理解文意和掌握報刊文的文本特征基礎上，達到轉述文意以及評價文中觀點和表述自己觀點的能力。
教材分析
本節課出自人教新課標版教材Module 8，是Unit 2單元的結束課。本節課的課型是“閱讀課”。課文為一篇期刊文，主要講述了cloning的產生及發展史，以及對世界音樂的了解。“全球音樂”這一熱點主題，內容較難，專業性較強，詞匯量較大。但是，雜志文章有著其獨特的文體特征，它并不一定要求學生理解每一字句，但掌握這些特征，有助于文意的理解。因此通過本課的學習，學生可以了解這類文章的文本特征以及介紹本文的大意，并在了解不同音樂的基礎上，發表自己的觀點和看法。
學情分析
本課教學對象是我校高二（10）班的學生，班級為理科重點班，學生學習氛圍較好，由于本課題是他們比較感興趣的內容，對“克隆”這一主題并不陌生，但尚欠缺系統性。另外，對于一些專業術語 認識不多，故，課前統一要求學生查找朗讀相關詞匯。在閱讀技能上，學生有一定的閱讀技能，但對報刊文這一文體接觸不多，因此，需要加強這類文寫作技巧的訓練。此外，學生的閱讀理解能力也有待于提高。同時，教師需提供學生更多的思考、討論和表述自己觀點的機會。
教學目標
I. Knowledge aims:
1. understand the meaning of the article fully through reading.
2. know clearly how cloning has come about and some different attitudes towards it 3. Master the layout of the passage II. Ability aims:
1. predict the main topic of the passage by using the title and the three graphs. 2. summarize each paragraph by using the key words. 3. talk about cloning and their spirit through practice.
4. reflect on similar compositions and express their opinions through cooperating with their partners. III. Moral aims:
1. realize it is human activity that has caused global cloning , thus increasing their awareness of peace loving.
2. love discussion, love such kind of writing.

I'm writing to tell you about the discussion we've had about whether an entrance fee should be charged for parks.
Opinions are divided on the question. 60％of the students are against the idea of entrance fee. They believe a public park should be free of charge. People need a place where they can rest and enjoy themselves. Changing entrance fees will no doubt keep some people away. What’s more, it will become necessary to build gates and walls, which will do harm to the appearance of a city.
On the other hand, 40％ think that fees should be charged because you need money to pay gardeners and other workers, and to buy plants and young trees. They suggest, however, fees should be charged low.
