Unit 8 3a---Self Check
1. Analysis on the period
This period is the last period of Unit 8.It is about learning to write a recipe with the conjunctions and the structures students have learnt in this unit.
2. Analysis on students
Students are interested in the topic.They are familiar with the dishes talked in this period.In this unit, they have learnt the conjunctions to express steps,such as first,next,then etc.They also learnt to use the verb phrases,such as cut up,mix up etc.
3. Teaching aims
(1) Knowledge aims
To review the conjunctions.
To review “how many””how much”questions and answers. To learn how to write a recipe. (2) Ability aims
To practice students’ speaking and writing skills.
To use the conjunctions and the verb phrases in natural speech. (3) Moral aims
To aware students to cherish food . To inspire students to cooperate with others.
4. Key and difficult points
(1) Use the amount of the ingredients and the verb phrases in writing a recipe.
(2) Describe the cooking steps with the conjunctions in a recipe.

Step 1 Lead-in
1. T: Look! What kind of book is it? Ss: It’s a recipe.
T: Why don’t we make a class recipe? 2. Present the class recipe and begin to make it.
(設計意圖:激發學生興趣,引出制作班級食譜的話題。) Step 2 Dish 1
1. T: The first dish I choose is simple. What is it?
2. Present the picture of the tomato and egg soup and have Ss name the food.
3. T: What do we need? How many tomatoes and eggs do we need? 4. T: I forgot the order to make the tomato and egg soup. Can you help me?
5. Ss stick the steps on the blackboard and use the conjunctions to express
the steps. 6. Ss read loudly.
(設計意圖:復習本單元how many和how much句式,同時使學生知道食材適量使用,做到不浪費。學習制作第一道簡單菜式,學生對菜譜制作有初步了解。) Step 3 Dish 2
1. T: There is a classmate from Yunnan. We can make a dish in Yunnan for him.
2. T plays a video about Yunnan Rice Noodles. 3. Ss look at a picture about Yunnan Rice Noodles. T: What do we need to make Yunnan rice noodles? How many eggs do we need?
How much chicken/meat/lettuce do we need?
4. T shows the steps to make Yunnan Rice Noodles and Ss learn. 5. Ss fill in the recipe in 3a.
6. Check the answers and Ss read loudly.
(設計意圖:通過本班云南學生的最喜愛菜式引入,觀看視頻激發學生學做云南米線的興趣,使學生對制作菜譜有整體感知,同時通過對話再次復習how many/how much句型。) Step 4 Pre-writing
1. T: We have two recipes in the class recipe.
Ss compare two recipes to choose the better one and think about the
reason why it is better.
2. T: If we want to make a recipe,what do we need to write?
3. T and Ss conclude the two points of a recipe: ingredients and process. (設計意圖:探討制作菜譜時所用的文章結構以及所需包含的內容。) Step 5 Group work (Dish 3)
1. T: We have two recipes in the class recipe. But they are normal. Do you want to make any crazy food?
2. 4 Ss a group and make a recipe for the crazy food. 3. Ss have a report of their crazy food. 4. T gives the prize for the craziest group.
(設計意圖:要求學生使用所學的方法在小組內制作菜譜,由黑暗料理入手激發學生興趣和創造力。獎勵最瘋狂的小組,獎品為雞蛋牛奶醪糟,為下一環節最喜愛食物的食譜制作做鋪墊。) Step 6 While-writing (Dish 4)
1. T: What is the prize for the craziest group? I cooked it this morning. It’s my favourite food. I made a recipe for it.What’s your favorite food? 2. Ss make the recipe for their favourite food and show in class.
(設計意圖:思考自己最喜愛的食物是什么,學生獨立完成食譜制作,應用并鞏固本節課所學。) Step 5 Post-writing
Read a poem loudly and tell Ss to cherish food.

本課時是第八單元的最后一個課時。本單元的話題是討論食物的制作方法,學習如何表達制作步驟。在本課時中要求學生復習本單元內容,運用表達順序的副詞、動詞短語、名詞單復數等來制作食譜。本班學生對美食話題很感興趣,部分學生有烹飪經驗,能夠簡單做一兩道菜。同時,學生已經掌握并能夠在語境中使用順序副詞、動詞短語及名詞單復數等。通過本節課的學習,不僅讓學生們熟練運用所學制作菜譜,也讓他們了解用適量的食材做適量的食物,不浪費,珍惜食物。
本節課的優點有以下幾個方面:
1. 由菜譜大全導入話題,提議大家一起動手制作一本班級食譜。

班級食譜貫穿始終,在創設的情境中,由簡單菜式的菜譜到復雜菜式的菜譜,由小組共同制作菜譜到個人獨自完成菜譜,從簡到難,層層遞進,在一定輸入后再要求學生輸出。制作班級菜譜分為四個部分,是獨立的活動但又統一在班級菜譜的情境中。創設情境,培養學生的語言運用能力,使學生將所學知識轉化為生活經驗,提高學生的語言運用能力,從而提高英語學科的核心素養。
2. 制作班級菜譜增強了班級凝聚力,一頁頁菜譜匯聚成一本班級菜譜大全,正如班級中點滴的個人力量匯聚成強大的班級力量。
3. 教與學有機結合在一起。在教學過程中,既有教師靈活的教,也應有學生積極主動地參與,才是真正意義上的教學。比如,在制作云南米線時,老師先教制作方法,然后要求學生看著動作一起來說出制作方法。這個活動增強了學習趣味性,引發學生思考、記憶,體現了學生的主體性和教師的指導性。這既完成了教學任務,學生在學到知識同時亦學得開心有趣。
4. 在小組活動時間,由在牛肉面中加入巧克力這一個例子引入crazy food,激發學生學習興趣。寫后要求兩名學生分享小組菜譜,其中一人介紹,一人做。通過動作的展示,幫助其他學生理解菜譜,再次記憶動詞短語。最后設計了最瘋狂的小組將得到神秘獎項這一活動,旨在讓學生在運用所學的基礎上發散思維,發展創造力。在這一環節中,學生的表現可圈可點,不僅寫出瘋狂的黑暗料理食譜,同時也有精彩的展示。
5. 小組活動要求共同完成一份菜譜,集思廣益,為個人獨自完成
菜譜打下基礎。小組活動的神秘獎品是我做的蘭州特色小吃——雞蛋牛奶醪糟。這也是我最喜愛的食物之一。由此導入學生最喜愛食物的寫作。再次給出范例,幫助學生更好的完成菜譜。
6. 本節課中,邊學課本上的菜譜邊總結出如何制作菜譜,同時也總結出所用到的短語。學生不僅僅是在機械地學,也在動腦思考。
7. 本節課中,整合了教材,將西紅柿雞蛋湯設計為第一道簡單菜式。在輸入過程中,通過how many/how much的提問來復習可數與不可數名詞。將所學的知識點融于整個課堂中,而不是某一部分。
8. 最后一環節中,一起誦讀耳熟能詳的古詩來告訴學生珍惜糧食的道理。同時在整節課中,how many/how much的提問強調適量食材的使用,讓學生感知烹飪時如何切實可行的做到珍惜食物。
9. 本節課中,靈活應用了手機和多媒體。在學生完成寫作后,手機拍照上傳到白板上,使課堂教學更為便捷,學生菜譜的展示也是一目了然,方便互相學習和互相糾錯。
本節課的不足有以下幾個方面:
1. 課程內容較多,時間緊張。在完成菜譜后,學生展示的時間比較少。尤其是在crazy food環節,很多小組做的都很不錯,但只能選取三組。
2. 最后寫作環節,將教師點評換成學生互評改錯,讓學生發現優點與錯誤,更能激發學生自主學習的興趣,體現學生是課堂的主體。
3. 課堂中評價語言可以更加豐富,可以在與學生的交流中去評價學生的表現,給學生鼓勵,潤物細無聲。
