Teaching aims 
1、能夠描述中秋節(jié)的來歷,并表達自己的感受。 2、通過對中秋節(jié)的學(xué)習(xí),加深對中國文化的理解。  
Language points(語言點) 1、要求掌握以下句式: 
(1) Chinese people have been celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and enjoying mooncakes for centuries. 
(2) Hou Yi was so sad that he called out her name to the moon every night. 
(3) He quickly laid out her favorite fruits and desserts in the garden.  
2、要求掌握以下詞匯:  (1)v.:steal, lay, admire (2)n.:goddess, dessert, garden

Analysis of the students 
我校九年級的學(xué)生,英語基礎(chǔ)比較薄弱,英語水平能力成兩極分化,學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣還有待于提高,但是該單元的話題是大家所熟稔的,因此能夠很好地引起他們的興趣,如要用中文展開討論,相對于他們而言還是比較容易展開的。 
Difficulties 
（1）Students can learn to retell the origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival. 
（2）Students can learn other legends about the Mid-Autumn Festival.  
Teaching procedures Lead in 
give three tips to help students guess the Mid-Autumn Festival and review the festivals. Pre-reading Do a brainstorm:

What story is the reading about? 
scanning: 
1. How do people celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival? 2. What do mooncakes look like? What meaning do they carry? 
After-reading Game 
Guess: who said these?  
“Oh…no! Don’t leave! Give me the magic medicine. If I had eaten the magic medicine, I would fly to the moon!  
“Bad man, I will kill you! I must kill you! God! Please send my wife back to me!”  
“What a day! It seems endless. How lonely I am! I miss you, my love!” Homework 
 
                    
             
                    
                            1.Write a passage to continue Chang’e and Hou Yi’s story and give it an ending. 
2.Do something for your families with full feelings! Maybe you can read an English poem to them with your full feelings!
