Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.It’s my great honor to stand here to share my teaching ideas with you.Today I’m going to talk about the reading of Unit 8 on page 62. In order to make it clear, I will prepare to begin my lesson form following parts. Part I.Teaching material 1.Status and function
The topic of this unit is about literature and music. Such a topic is related to our daily life, so it’s easy to arouse students’ learning interests. As we all know, reading has a great effect on speaking and writing. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material. 2.Teaching objectives Knowledge objectives
a).To understand the content of the passage. b).To understand present perfect. Ability objectives
a).To improve reading and writing abilities. b).To develop the ability of summarizing. Emotional attitudes and moral values a).To develop interests in country music. b).To know more about American culture. 3.Teaching important and difficult points
a).The important point is using the reading strategies while reading and get the ideas about the passage.
b).The difficult points are retell and summary. 4.The analysis of students
For grade 8 students, they have mastered enough knowledge both in vocabulary and reading skills, it’ll be helpful for them to understand the passage.
Part II.Teaching procedures Step 1:Warming-up

設計意圖:通過播放一首現在流行的鄉村音樂的視頻,作為本節課的課前熱身。 Step 2 :Leading-in

I.Skimming
T:Read the passage quickly and find the main idea of each paragraphs.Remember:main ideas are usually the first sentence or the last sentence. Para 1 What is Sarah’s dream? Para 2 Who is Sarah? Para 3 What is country music?
設計意圖:快速瀏覽文章,找出文章的段落大意。教師在學生閱讀之前,可以講授閱讀技巧,即段落大意一般在第一句或最后一句。
II.Careful reading.

設計意圖:在復述文章的環節,還是采用閱讀時劃分的小組,每兩小組復述一段。小組之間復述之后可以進行比較,教師綜合較好的復述進行展示。作為口頭輸出,復述短文可以幫助學生更好的理解語篇。 Step 6:Writing
T:Just now we have retold the passage.Now you have to write a summary of the passage.You can use the information in the mind-map.Remember,write no more than 100 words.
設計意圖:通過寫作,達到筆頭輸出。在經過口頭輸出的復述之后,學生對縮寫已有一定的思路。
