一、教材分析
本課時圍繞“談論自己所喜歡的學科”這一話題,展開形式多樣的聽、說、讀、寫學習活動。主要學習掌握學科的表達;學習用because和表示品質的形容詞表示理由;學習what,why引導的特殊疑問句。通過本單元的學習使學生學會談論自己喜好的學科或自己喜好的其它事情并給出理由。 二、學情分析
本課時的主題是“談論自己所喜歡的學科”,主要是學習學科的表達、表示品質的形容詞、學習用because表示理由。在詢問“對方所喜歡的學科”時,要使用以前所學過的What疑問句,再學習“詢問理由”所用的Why疑問句。教師可引導學生通過比較、對照的方法掌握所學疑問句的結構和使用以及回答。 一、教學目標: 1. 語言知識目標:
1) 能掌下列詞匯:favorite, subject, P.E. science, music, math, Chinese, geography, history, why, because 2) 能掌握以下句型:
① —What's your favorite subject? —My favorite subject is science. ② —Why do you like P.E.? —Because it's fun.
3) 能就所喜歡的科目這一話題進行問答交流,正確表達自己的情感。 4)能聽懂有關所喜歡的科目相關話題的聽力材料,并獲得相關信息 二、教學重難點 1. 教學重點:
1) 掌握學校科目的相關詞匯。
2) 學習詢問和談論別人或自己喜好的學科并給出理由。 3)What和Why引導的特殊疑問句的構成和使用。 2. 教學難點:
1) 學習詢問和談論別人或自己喜好的學科并給出理由。
2)What,和Why引導的特殊疑問句的構成和使用。 三、Teaching process Step1 Lead-in 1. Greeting the Ss.
2. Warming up. Let students listen to an English song and answer the questions. T: Do you like music?
Where do you usually listen to music? S: At home. In music class.
T:Yes ,we usually listen to music in music class.Show the word “music”,learn the word.
Step2 Presentation Show a school schedule:
T:Musc is a subject.Learn the word “subject”.We can see other subjects in this schedule.What subjects are they? For example:Chinese ,English...
Now let's learn other subjects. Show the picture of the books of science ,P.E,math geography,history...Teach students for several times.Ss read all the subjects and try to remember them. Game time:
Let’s play a game .Can you speak out these subjects as quickly as you can ?Show pictures on the screen.
Work on 1a. Look at the picture in 1a, match the words with the pictures. Then check the answers Step3 Listening
T: I am an English teacher .I like English best .So my favorite subject is English.Teach” favorite”.

T: Two students are talking about their favorite subjects. Listen to the recording
and circle the subjects you hear in 1a.
1.Play the tape for the first time,Students listen and repeat.Then play it again,Ss listen and circle the words in 1a.)
2. Ss listen and circle the words in 1a. Then check the answers. Step4 Pair work
1. T: Let's practice the conversation with your partner. (Ss practice the conversation.)
S1: What's your favorite subject? S2: My favorite subject is ....
2: Now make your conversations with the subjects in 1a.
S1: What's your favorite subject? S2: My favorite subject is…
(Exchange roles. S2 ask S1 about the favorite subjects) Step5 Presentation
1.Use a picture to present the sentence structure: —Why do you like… —Because… T: What's your favorite subject? S: My favorite subject is P.E T: Why do you like P.E.?
S1: (Help S1 answer) Because it's fun.
Write the sentence structure: " —Why do you like… — Because…"on the blackboard.
2. Let Ss read after the teacher, and try to remember them.
3. We've learned some adjectives in Unit 5. Such as interesting, boring, fun, difficult, relaxing…
Do you still remember? Let's review the words together.
4.Use pictures to practice :Why do you like… ? — Because it is…(interesting,boring,difficult,relaxing) Step6 Listening
1. T: Look at the picture in 2a. Two students are talking about their favorite
subjects. First, read the sentences by yourself. Then listen and put the conversation in order.
Ss read the four sentences, then listen to the recording and put them in order. 2. Check the answers with the class.
3.Work on 2b. Now listen to the recording . Match the subjects you hear with the descriptions. Ss listen and match. Then play the recording for the Ss to check the answers.
Step7 Pair work
1. T: What do you think of the subjects above? Make your own conversations using the words (fun, interesting, relaxing, difficult…) in 2b. For example: S1: What's your favorite subject? S2: Science.
S1: Why do you like science? S2: Because it's interesting.
2. Ss make their own conversations with his or her partner. Then let some pairs act out their conversations.
Step8 Do a survey.
Students work in groups,then do a report. Step9 Homework
