教學目標
1.學生能熟練地用所學語言復述Story time內容。
2.學生能在情景中理解并正確運用first, next, then, finally來描述事情或講故事。
3.學生能自主閱讀cartoon time內容, 理解并能朗讀、表演故事。
4.學生能了解一些其它重要的西方節日,如Thanksgiving Day。
2學情分析
本課時是單元教學的第二課時,教學對象是五年級學生。學生已學習了該單元storytime板塊,對副詞first, next, then 和finally 的意義已經有了初步的感知,本課時主要深入學習這四個副詞的用法,并結合cartoon 的學習,進一步讓學生進行運用。
3重點難點
1.學生能在情景中感知、理解語法知識并能初步地運用。
2.學生能自主閱讀cartoon time,讀懂內容,體會樂趣,提高自主閱讀能力。

設計Tim也來說圣誕這一環節,因為Tim是一個四歲的孩子,敘述事情條理性不夠,讓學生來給他建議。這里旨在讓學生自省,自悟出這四個詞的用法,而不是教師硬塞給他們四個單詞。既增添了趣味性,又真正提供了讓學生自悟的平臺
由說到寫,關注學生是否能真正運用,同時檢查學生拼寫的能力。

Cartoon time讓學生先自主閱讀、自由表達從故事中讀到的內容,通過自讀自悟,感受體會Cartoon time的幽默有趣之處,培養自主閱讀能力。
對“吃火雞”這一文化進行聚焦,激發學生興趣。
要求學生繪聲繪色地朗讀,讀出語言的美感,讀出故事的趣味。
學生分層次表演。鼓勵學生創造性地表演,給故事加結尾,培養學生的創新思維,給學生語言表達的平臺。
活動5【活動】Step5 expanding
1. Show the picture of another turkey.

Every year, the president of the US set free a turkey on Thanksgiving Day.

T introduces Thanksgiving Day.
3. T: Thanksgiving Day is coming, the lucky turkey is so happy, he doesn’t know what to do. Can you arrange for the lucky turkey?

從poor Mr Turkey 過渡到一只lucky Turkey,讓學生帶著濃郁的興趣來了解Thanksgiving Day這個西方節日,這也是本單元的story time板塊中的Learning tip要落實的目標。
通過這一環節的學習,學生了解了更多西方節日,并能再次使用first,next,then,finally一系列表示先后順序的詞進行簡單輸出。
讓學生給the lucky turkey安排感恩節活動,活動內容學生從所給的相關資料中自由提取,活動順序學生自由表達,既了解感恩節這一西方節日,又再次練習使用本單元核心語言項目。

總結過渡Mike也想了解中國的傳統節日,學生就傳統節日春節向Mike作簡單介紹,這是作業之一。然后用這幾個詞來布置家作,始終將這幾個詞貫穿于課堂學習的各個環節,使作業布置也能吸引學生。
展示通過學生努力而裝飾出來的漂亮的圣誕樹,幫助學生樹立學習英語的自信心,讓學生體驗成就感。
