一、教材分析:
本單元主要學習了一些簡單形容詞比較級例如taller, shorter, younger, older, stronger, bigger, heavier, longer等。這些形容詞已經基本接觸過,在這里進一步的學習兩個事物如何進行比較,以及形容詞比較級的表示法,特別記住一些比較特殊的表示法。本單元的中心話題是詢問身邊的人或事物的年齡、身高、重量及長度并做比較。本課時主要是涉及自然博物館中不同種類恐龍的比較,比較他們的身高,引出比較他們的年齡,長度。How tall is it? How old is it? How long is it.
二、學生特征分析
六年級英語在小學英語教學中起著承上啟下的作用。六的學生大概處在十二三歲左右,這個階段的兒童容易為一些新奇刺激的事物所吸引。在記憶方面,這個年齡段的孩子的有意識記逐漸占據主導地位,即使是抽象材料也能花功夫努力記住,并能自覺檢查記憶的效果。他們記憶發展的另一特點是從機械識記向意義識記發展。這個階段兒童思維發展開始從具體形象思維向抽象邏輯思維過渡,但是他們的抽象邏輯思維在很大程度上仍然是直接與感性經驗相聯系,仍有很大的不自覺性和具體形象性。所以語法的講解在這個階段會比較困難,抽象的概念很難被他們接受,教學中我注重通過詞句的反復訓練和感知來習得語言的綜合運用能力。

知識與能力:
1、能聽懂、會說單詞:hall, meter/metre ,than, both
2. 能聽懂、會說句子How tall is it? Maybe 4 meters. That’s the tallest dinosaur in this hall. It’s taller than both of us together .并能在情景中運用。
2.能聽懂Let’s try,并完成任務。

學生能在合作交流中使用新語言進行溝通

培養學生良好的英語學習習慣。
了解基本的計量單位的運用
