By the end of this lesson, students will:
1. obtain more vocabularies to talk about the journey. Their reading skills like scanning and skimming will be improved by doing exercise. 2. be confident if talking about this topic in the future. 3. cultivate the awareness of patriotism
Teaching contents: vocabulary of sightseeing in the sea, understanding the passage
Focal point and difficult point:
Key point: understand what is the journey and the main idea of the passage. Difficult point: find out the detailed information and transit what they’ve learnt into their output.
Teaching aids: power point, computer, chalk and blackboard. Teaching procedures: Stage 1 before-reading

Step 1 lead-in (2mins)
Greet students. Show the students a short video about this passage. Step 2. Warming-up (3 mins)
Lead the students to review and memorize the key words in this passage. The aim of it is to let student understand the text easily. Stage 2 while-reading
Step 1 Skimming to get the main idea (7mins)
Guide students to read the passage in 5mins to divide the passage into 3 parts and match the main points.
Step2 Skimming to guess the meaning of the title (7mins)
After finishing reading the passage, help students to grasp the general idea of the passage which will help students understand the passage well. The aim of it is to help students figure out the main idea in the passage and then get the clear line of the content. Step 3: careful-reading(16mins)
Learn the passage part by part, lead the students to find out some specific and detailed information about the journey. Some pictures and exercises (multiple choice, blank filling, T or false…) are used in this process. Aim of it is to train students’ canning ability to get specific information. Stage 3 post-reading(10mins)
After understanding the passage very well, ask students to write something about “What kinds of qualities(品質) did the Captain Bligh

have? Give your reasons.”
Give students 5 minutes to discuss it. Then together with students, the teacher is going to set an example to the students.
The aim of it is help students transit what they’ve learnt into their own output. Meanwhile, another aim is to practice their speaking ability and prepare for their writing. Stage4: Summary
1. After finishing reading the passage, do a summary together with the students about the whole passage.
The aim of it is to check the understanding of the lesson. Stage5: Homework. 1. Try to retell the whole text.
