介紹英國著名景點“巨石陣”,簡單了解它的形狀,誰建造了巨石陣,建造的原因,目的,及歷史學家的對巨石陣不同的觀點。通過閱讀課文,激發學生對秘密勇于探索、認真分析的科學精神,培養學生正確的價值觀。
二、教學目標 一 教學目標 1. 語言知識目標:
1) 能掌握以下單詞:UFO, alien, run after, suit, express, not only...but also..., circle, Britain, receive, leader, midsummer, medical, prevent, energy, position, burial, honor, ancestor, victory, enemy, period 2) 能掌握以下重難句子:
① For many years, historians believed Stonehenge was a temple where ancient leaders tried to communicate with the gods. ② The large stones were put together in a certain way.
③ As you walk there, you can feel the energy from your feet move up your body. 2. 情感態度價值觀目標:
通過PPT和老師的引導,讓學生學習有關英國巨石陣的知識,激發學生對“巨石陣之謎”的興趣, 培養學生對事物的探索精神。不信謠,不傳謠。

九、教學反思
本節課課堂反響不錯。小組競賽貫穿整節課,最后評選出最佳小組,學生們的參與、競爭意識很強,積極性很高。一開始我在Warming up部分組織學生觀看了一個關于巨石陣的視頻,調動了學生的學習熱情和對巨石陣的興趣 。skimming部分讓學生找出關于巨石陣的信息,訓練學生閱讀的能力。Careful reading部分讓學生總結各段的段意,使學習更理解了課文。Post-reading做練習。結合時事開展小組合作、探究,鼓勵學生大膽開口說英語。課后安排學生將討論的結果寫一份報告,訓練學生的寫作能力。這節課也有不足之處。因為課文比較長,內容有點多又是科普性文章,留給學生朗讀的時間不夠充分。再者,在Discussion環節中學生的反應不太理想,積極踴躍表演的小組有限,由此可見,學生的英語表達能力有待進一步提高。
