This Topic is about weather and seasons and the activities people can do in four seasons. Students will learn how to ask and answer questions about weather and they can describe the activities they can do in the four seasons. They should also know how to talk about their favorite seasons. Teaching aims
1. Knowledge aims
a. Recognize and read the words about weather: weather, spring, warm, season, summer, hot, climbandso on.
b. Master the way to ask and answer questions about weather and activities:
—What’s the weather like in spring?/—How is the weather like in spring?
—It’s warm. It’s a good time to.../ It’s a good season for.../We can...
--Which season do you like best, spring, summer, fall or winter?
— Why/Why do you like it? —Because... 2. Skill aims
a. Be able to understand the conversations and passages about seasons and weather. b. Be able to use the new words to describe weather and activities in different months and different places and give a speech about them. 3. Emotional aims
a. Cooperate with group members and finish
teachers’ task.
b. Enjoy the beautiful scenery in Enshi and love the city.
The key points and difficult points:
a. It’s a good time to do sth. It’s a good season for doing sth.
b. Which season do you like best, spring, summer, fall or winter? c. It is hard to say. Learning strategies:TBLT Learning process:
1. Watch two videos and learn the new words and sentences.
2. Finish the exercise and discuss about questions.
Part Two:
Practicing process:
a. Play a game. Match weather and activities with seasons.
b. Pair work. Ask and answer in pairs about four seasons.
c. Talk about the four seasons and act out dialogues.
d. Strengthen the sentence structure “It is a good season/time/place for doing sth./to do sth.
e. Talk about favorite seasons in groups and act out dialogues.
f. Show students “the earth” and ask them to discuss the weather and activities in
different places. Then give class a speech. g. Enjoy beautiful pictures about Enshi and talk about the beautiful city, Enshi.
