today is your birthday. How old are you?

Several Ss take turns to choose some
members in other groups to talk by using
“How old are you? When is your birthday?”

Step 2 Revision
1. Ask Ss how people usually spend their
birthdays. Then show pictures about
different parties.
2. Show more pictures about the activities
Ss learnt last lesson.
1. Ss revise “party, parties, have a party, have
a birthday party, have a Christmas party,
have an English party”.
2. Ss revise the activities “school trip, English
test, basketball game/match” they learnt
last lesson. 設計意圖:通過圖片導入,幫助學生復習上一節課學過的四項活動的短語,為下一步引入更多的活動詞匯的學習做好鋪墊。

1. From “basketball game” lead in tomorrow’s Sports Day in T’s school. Then ask Ss “Do you have a Sports Day too? When is it?” After that bring in the new lesson by saying “So in today’s lesson, let’s talk about more activities in our school.” 2. Show pictures to teach the word
“activities” and the new phrases about school activities in P47 2a. 1. Learn “Sports Day” and answer T’s
questions.
2. Look at pictures and compete to say out the new phrases about school activities. Then look at Chinese and revise the phrases and read together. 3. Work in groups and talk about the activities they have at school and what they can do. Then get one or two group leaders to introduce.
設計意圖:師生互動,讀前階段是英語閱讀教學的引入階段,此時的主要教學目的是對文章進行合理的導入,為學生做好情感、話題和語言上的準備。通過師生之間的對話促進學生從已有認知向新的認知遷移,通過圖片對新活動詞匯的習得和對活動的初步談論有效地幫助學生減少閱讀障礙,為學生順利進入文本情境做好鋪墊。

1. Ask Ss what activities from 2b they like and what other activities they like. 2. Make Ss imagine they are a school headmaster and cooperate to list their favorite activities and dates in groups. 3. Ask one or two groups to present.
