Teaching procedure:
Step1: Free-talk and review “What’s your favorite food” and What would you like to eat/drink? And so on.
Step2: Warm-up: Boys ask: “What’s your favorite food?” Girls answer:” My favorite food is…It’s delicious/fresh/sweet…”
Step3:prestation: Look at the screen. Robin can do many things. He can cook. Both Wu Yifan and his grandpa wrote letters
to Robin. Read the two letters for the first time and answer the three questions.
(1) What’s Wu Yifan’s favourite food? (2) Does Wu Yifan like beef?
(3) What’s Grandpa’s favourite food?
After that, check the answers and underline the key sentence. Step4: Read the two letters for the second time using the detailed reading method. And finish the task on the book. What can both Wu Yifan and grandpa eat?
Draw the three pictures on the blackboard and show why we just choose the first picture. Grandpa doesn’t like car rots, so we can’t choose the third picture. Wu Yifan doesn’t like beef, so we can’t choose the second picture.
Step5: Enjoy the cartoon and imitate the sound, especially practice with grandpa’s voice. And the teacher corrects. Step6: Show the writing pattern before writing a letter to Robin. Give students 5 minutes to write the letter. Then exchange the letter with their partner and discuss the fault. At last, the teacher will choose some students to come to the front reading their own letter, others correct the fault together.
