第一步 導入部分：
問題 “If you could study abroad in the world, which country would you like to go ?Why?” 啟發學生思考出國留學，想去哪個國家，并且分享理由。然后分享幾張美國、英國 知名大學的圖片。聯系了濰坊一中學生曾小雨被哈佛大學錄取這一學校事件。 第二部分 先整體閱讀理解，然后細讀 Step 1 fast reading 快速閱讀歸納大意
1.What is the main idea of the passage? Give one sentence to describe it.
step 2 Scan the text and match the general idea of each paragraph
瀏覽全文，歸納段落大意，讓學生對于每段的段落大意有整體的理解，便于把握全文 Para 1 The difficulties Xie Lei met while living in London;
Para 2 The newspaper will follow Xie Lei’s progress in later editions. Para 3 The general introduction to Xie Lei and her study;
Para 4 The advantages that Xie Lei gained while living with a host family. Para 5 Xie Lei is now getting along well and is living an active life. Para 6 Xie Lei, a Chinese girl, is studying in a foreign country--London. Para 7 Xie Lei is getting used to the Western University’s way of learning. Step 3 Reading for details
細讀部分設計的問題，主要圍繞謝蕾面臨的問題，以及她如何應對解決問題，從預科課程的好處，寄宿家庭如何幫助她克服困難，如何在老師的幫助提高學習成績，參加俱樂部等方面，讓學生了解謝蕾努力通過多個方面，應對出國的困難。

深讀部分主要是通過課文語言，總結謝蕾具備的性格特點。也就是說，如果要克服出國遇到的困難，需要具備怎樣的品質。

Step 5 Discussion
討論部分主要讓學生通過課文和自己的了解，評價出國留學的利弊。
