指導思想與理論依據
本節課是閱讀課，所以以鍛煉學生閱讀能力為中心思想，包括快速閱讀和細節閱讀，同時尋找主題句和提煉中心思想。同時讓學生們體驗地震造成的傷害，然后有效思考如何在地震中保護自己。
教材分析
本課時是根據人教版高一英語教材必修一第四單元Earthquakes中的
Reading “A Night the Earth Didn’t Sleep”而設計的一節課，這單元圍繞
earthquakes這一主題開展聽說讀寫多種教學活動。本課時是本單元整體教學
的重要環節，為學生的語言學習和語法學習提供了載體，并且是學生獲取信息
的主要來源。課文主要講述了1976年7月28日凌晨發生在河北省東北部唐山
市的大地震。全文分震前、震中、震后敘述了整個過程。本文詞匯量大，運用
了大量的動詞以及復雜的數字，出現了許多定語從句，篇幅較長，并且采用了
一些修辭手法，對學生的語言閱讀能力提出了更高的要求。但文章的結構比較
清晰明朗，比較容易歸納出各個部分的中心詞。
學情分析
本班學生的英語學習認真熱情，經過初中三年的英語學習，他們已經初步了解略讀、跳讀等一定的閱讀技巧以及識別關鍵詞、確定主題句、預測等閱讀技能，形成了初步的閱讀策略。但我帶的這個班的學生們大部分的英語基礎知識仍然較為薄弱，運用英語進行交際活動的能力較差；主動學習的動力不夠，
少部分學生的基礎較好，能主動配合老師，愿意開口講。他們有著獨立、愛表現自我的特點。因此，只有設置使他們感興趣的活動，因材施教，才能讓他們投入到課堂活動中來。
教學目標
1.Skill goals (技能目標)
Know basic knowledge about earthquakes(了解地震的基本知識)
Know how to protect oneself and help others in disasters（了解如何自救與他救）
2. Sensibility goals(情感目標)
Get the students to be aware of the terrible disasters ,meanwhile get them to face it ,treat it in a proper way, and never get discouraged.（使學生對災難有正確的認識，要用積極的態度來對待它。） 3．Ability goals(能力目標)
a.Let the students collect the information from the internet by themselves.(獨立搜集信息的能力)
b. Let the students pack up the information by themselves.(獨立整理信息的能力)
c.Feed them back to students in class ,using what they have done.(課堂反饋與學生互動的能力)

How to collect the advice on how to protect ourselves for an earthquake and express their meaning properly.
教學流程示意
Step I: Fast reading 共四項任務，需要同學們快速閱讀由淺入深胡理解課文，重點鍛煉學生尋找主題句topic sentences的能力。
Step II: Careful reading 利用練習冊«名師一號»的閱讀理解和完成表格鍛煉學生 細讀找尋答案的能力。
Step III: Post reading «限時雙基練十»改編自課文的語法填空，提升學生分析解決 問題的能力。
Step IV：Discussion 討論唐山大地震傷亡慘重的原因和在地震中如何自救。需要小組活動，充分思考，把每組的建議呈現出來。
