3. use objective clauses with that, if and whether to talk about their idea about festivals.
4. use the exclamatory sentence.

Step 1 Lead-in
1. Greetings and leading-in. 2. Play a video about Mid-Autumn Festival for students to watch. 1. Greeting

Aims: To make Ss interested in the class and lead them into the topic.
Step 2
Presentation
1. Encourage students to look at the pictures and recognize the festivals. 2. Let students talk about what people usually do on these festivals, using objective clause with that, if and whether.

Step 4 Listening (1b)
1. Have the students read the sentences in the box in 1b. 2. Guess what festival they will talk about. 3. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and circle T or F. 4. Check the answers by asking volunteers. 1. Read carefully

Aims: To make Ss practice listening skills and find the key information.
Step 5 Pair work ( 1c )
1. Invite a student to talk about the Dragon Boat Festival. 2. Encourage Ss to ask their partner about the festivals in 1a. 3. Invite some pairs to show their conversations for the class. 1. Listen the conversation between teacher and the volunteer.
2. Talk about the festivals in 1a with partner.
3. Act out conversations in class. Aims: To make Ss develop speaking skills.
Step 6 Listening ( 2a—2b )
1. Ask Ss to read the sentences in 2a.
2. Have them listen and circle the correct words in the sentences. 3. Have Ss work in pairs to correct their answers.
4. Have the Ss read the chart and listen again and fill in the blanks in 2b.
5. Check the answers.
6. Ask Ss to listen and match the opinions of Wu Ming and Harry. 7. Ask Ss to retell the passage using the information in 2a and 2b.

Dragon Boat Festival II wonder if/whether strangers throw water. What a great festival! How fantastic they are!
