Teaching Aims

Teaching Steps
Step 1 Giving a very general revision of Days
Just give a very general revision and get the students to talk about the subjects in Chinese schools. Encourage the students to raise the questions. ( Encourage the students to speak out their favourites and reasons.)
Step 2 Talking about all the subjects we have
Get the students to name the subjects that they have at school. Help the students expand their active vocabulary about school subjects. 1. Brain storm
2. Take an example: talk about my favourite subjects 3. Pair work:
What’s your favourite subjects? I like … Why? Because …
Step 3 Getting to know our friend 1. Listen and guess Who is our old friend? 2. Listen and judge
Have students listen to the passage two times. Get the feedback from the pad, then check it out.
Step 4 Welcome to our beautiful school 1. Play a micro film 2. Pre-test feedback ① Exercise 1:
Get to know the new words: gym, canteen, garden ② Exercise 2:

Step 5 Let’s go to the school clubs 1. Read and guess
Talk about the activities at different clubs. What club do you want to join? 2. Think and choose

Step 6 Enjoy our colourful school life
