一、Analysis of the teaching material(教材分析)
Selected from new senior book 3, people’ education press, unit 4 Astronomy: the science of the stars using language II, the first task is to comprehend the passage about a visit to the moon and improve the ability of reading. And the second task is speaking and writing. In this lesson, students learn the knowledge of astronomy, especially about the moon. At the end of this lesson, students can be interested in the science of astronomy by expressing themselves in English.
二、Analysis of Teaching aims（教學目標分析）
Curriculum content standards: Through repeated reading, comprehend the related information and main idea of the article.

In conclusion, get the knowledge aims, ability aims and emotional aims below: 1. Knowledge Aims（知識目標）
(1) Introduce a visit to the moon and accumulate common knowledge about astronomy.
(2) Get the students to know how to read a travelling narration. 2. Ability aims（能力目標）
(1) Train students’ reading skills of fast reading and close reading.
(2) Enable students to express the ideas freely through self-directed study and cooperation.
(3) Enable students to write a passage about settling questions in English. 3. Emotional aims（情感目標）
(1) Inspire students’ interest in reading and build up their confidence in learning English.
(2) Make students know the importance of astronomy by expressing themselves in
English.
三、Analysis of students（學情分析）
This lesson is given to students who have learnt the first reading”how life began on the earth”, thus they have a little knowledge of astronomy, as well as some useful reading strategies, such as skimming for main idea and scanning for specific information. However, they still have difficulty in how speaking and writing for problem-solution.
四、Teaching important points（教學重點）
1. Get students to learn different reading skills.
2. Enable students to know how to write a passage about settling questions in English.

Get students to describe the astronomy knowledge in English.
