The parks we often go to are mostly traditional parks. Do you know theme parks? Step II: Warming up
Lead in by watching a short video of Disneyland and answer two questions. 1. What kind of parks is Disneyland? 2. What can people do there? Step III. Pre-reading
Tell the difference between a park and a theme park
Guide the students think about why the writer said that theme parks are fun and

Step III: Reading
Today we are going to visit Theme parks.
How many theme parks are mentioned in the text? What are they? Reading task 1: Skimming Getting general idea
The students read and get the main idea of each paragraph. Para.1. Different kinds of theme parks. Para.2.Disneyland Para.3. Dolly wood.
Para.4.England's Camelot Park Task2: Careful reading (Show time)
You are a guide. Your partners are tourists. Suppose each group represent one of these theme parks. Try to make an introduction of each place according to the passage.
Try to introduce three theme parks using your own way.
Ask the representative of each group to make a speech in front of the class. Step V: Discussion
If you have a chance to visit one of the three parks, which one do you like to visit? Step VI : Poster designing
Discussion activity (Five minutes )
The students have a chance to design a new theme park that will attract as many visitors as possible. They will be divide into 8 groups and discuss with their partners .
The following questions should be included: 1. What is the name of your theme park? 2. What is the theme? 3. Any attractions?
4. What do you want to show visitors and tell visitors? 5. Why do you want to design it? Step VII: Homework
1. Surf on the Internet for more information about theme parks 2. Preview the language points in the text .

Unit 5 Theme parks教學反思
本課時是一堂口語閱讀課,而非傳統的閱讀課,能力訓練符合本課新課改理念要求,學生課前要達到充分的預習,著重學生口頭表達能力的培養,著重思想情感的熏陶,滲透,根據上課的學生的反應和配合以及所達到的教學效果來,自已感覺還算是比較成功的一課,整節課緊張有序,充實完整,輕松愉快,學生樂于參與表現,教學容量大,各教學環節銜接得當。特別是展示和海報設計,充分調動起學生的積極性,以學生為主,加以引導,很好地鍛煉了學生表達能力。但是自我感覺也有做得不足的地方。
第一,教學用語還有待提高,應更加精煉準確有效,爭取把更多的時間和機會留給學生去說去練。其次,自己的發音也有待提高,要在基本功方面不斷提高自己。第三,由于緊張,在處理一些學生的回答時沒有深入進行點評。第四,提問以及討論讓學生思考的時間還不夠充足。第五,設計海報的環節,對于少部分學生來說,難度有點大,在課堂上給他們練習的時間可能有點太少了。
