Teaching goals
1)To have a general idea of the differences between BrE and AmE;
2)To know the development of English and why and how English changed;
3)To improve listening and reading ability by learning how to get the main idea and detailed information;
4)To know more about English language and spread Chinese culture in English.

2)To improve listening and reading ability through the listening and reading.
Teaching procedure
Step I Lead-in
Ask the Ss to enjoy a piece of work from Datong dialect “Shulaibao” and ask them to
guess.Then ask the Ss to think about why we speak different Chinese but we can understand each other.[引導(dǎo)學(xué)生思考:為什么說(shuō)不同英語(yǔ)的人可以理解對(duì)方并無(wú)障礙交流呢?激活學(xué)生思維]
Step II Warming up
1.Ask the Ss to act out the dialogue between Beckham and Obama and know differences between BrE and AmE.
