Section A 3a-3c Reading
一、教材分析
本課例選自人教版《新目標英語》八下的Unit8 Section A 3a,圍繞“魯賓遜漂流記”展開。
本單元的功能項目是理解、信息查找、釋義和建議。在閱讀活動中,學生要根據關鍵詞進行文章大意的理解;精讀活動中,通過信息查找,學生除了理解故事情節的順序,還要根據圖片和英文替換詞對文章中的重點詞進行釋義;讀后的拓展活動中,學生思考應該怎樣在保護自我的基礎上幫助在路上摔倒的行人。
二、學情分析
八年級的學生,通過七年級一年和八年級上學期的學習形成了一定的學習策略,如預測閱讀內容,根據上下文猜測生詞,找到細節信息并加以處理排序。但還需要在不同的知識內容、不同的情境中提升運用學習策略的水平。
三、教學目標
1、 Language objectives
1. Learn some new words and expressions
2. Students can get reading information by reading the passage.Then they can understand the whole passage.
3. Learn and practice present perfect tense.
2、Ability objectives
1. Develop students’ reading skills.
2. Students can retell the passage after learning the passage.
3、 Affective objectives
1. Learn more about the famous novel Robinson Crusoe. 2. Learn the spirit of Robinson.
3. Learn some ways to overcome the difficulties. 4. Learn how to give a book report.
四、教學重難點
1. Develop students’ reading skills.
2. Students can understand the whole passage and retell the story
五、 教學方法
教法:根據文章內容,設計相應的閱讀任務來開展閱讀活動。同時在最后進行語言輸出,把通過閱讀輸入的語言材料以說和寫的方式來輸出。實現本課的語言知識技能目標。同時在課堂活動中注重對學生的學習策略指導,以培養強化他
們的自主學習能力。
學法:通過自主學習、合作探究、以讀為本來達到學生自主提出學習目標,自主嘗試運用學過的方法解決問題的目的,把時間和空間還給學生、還給課堂。

七:教學過程(Teaching procedure)
Step 1 Greetings & Preparation
I’ll greet my students as usual and lead in the words by telling my experience on an island, Ss can guess the target words as well.
【In this way, I can form a warm and relaxing atmosphere, at the same time, Ss can prepare for the following reading tasks.】 Step 2. Lead-in
I will lead in the topic by asking students to discuss the questions in pairs:
Have you been to an island alone?
If you are going to an island alone, what problems will you meet? If you are going to an island alone, how can you solve the problems? 【This step, with questions posed by the teacher, I can lead in the topic- Robinson Crusoe. 】
Then I’ll show Ss a short video of Robinson Crusoe, this step enables Ss to get familiar with Robinson.
【By asking Ss some questions according to the video, I can lead them to the careful reading of Para 1.】
Step 3. Careful reading
In this step, I will set three tasks.
Task1. I let Ss read paragraph 1 loudly and tell Robinson’s life on the island by using the pictures and phrases I’ve shown to them. They can practice retelling with their partners.
【By this step, Ss can get basic information and practice the present perfect tense.】
Task2. I let Ss read paragraph 2 loudly and fill in the blanks.

Now

【By filling the chart, Ss can get specific information and understand the event in time sequence['siːkw(ə)ns].】
Task3. I let Ss listen to the tape and follow in a low voice. Then Ss compete for the best reader.
【This step, Ss can appreciate the passage by reading with emotion.】 Step 4. Group Discussion
After appreciating the passage, Ss are familiar with the main character Robinson and this book. Therefore, I’ll let Ss discuss these questions in groups: What do you think of Robinson?
What can we learn from the book – Robinson Crusoe?
【By answering the questions, Ss can summarize the ways of overcoming the difficulties and learn the spirit of Robinson. It also gives advanced Ss more room to develop their creativity.】
Step 5. Book report
Ss are divided into 6 groups; each group should choose a book to introduce. I will give Ss a writing frame, and let them write a book report by answering the questions:
What other books have you read? Which book do you like best? Why do you like it? What can you learn from it?

Step 6. Summary
This step, I’ll show Ss two sentences: Books can open our minds. A good book is a light to the soul.
